Haikyuu Season 5 Release Date Expected To Be In 2021?

First, let us clear up something – Haikyuu is without a doubt the most popular sports anime out there. The second is Kuroko no Basuke but it is not close to Haikyuu. As of now, Haikyuu has had 4 seasons, very successful ones at that, and Haikyuu Season 5 will be coming soon.

The Haikyuu manga is highly acclaimed and it too, is the most popular sports manga out there, beating out the wildly beloved Slam Dunk.

Nearly all sports fans know of this phenomenal series – a work that reaches great heights with creative thinking, amazing storytelling, realistic performances, and grueling hard work, just as Solo Leveling anime.

Since the premiere of the first season, it didn’t take long for the anime to get viral and garner millions of fans. Haikyuu made such an impact on fans that because of the anime, more and more people started watching and playing Volleyball.

Haikyuu Season 5

Haikyuu basically boosted Volleyball’s popularity while giving us a great series. And now that the fourth season is over, we are here with Haikyuu Season 5 release date, plot, and characters.

We know that you all are really hyped up about the fifth season and can’t wait to watch it and see Hinata go against Hoshiumi. Apart from Demon Slayer Season 2, Haikyuu S5 is the second most awaited anime this year.

Haikyuu Season 5 Release Date Announcement:

Haikyuu Season 5 release date has not been announced yet. The 4th season, that is, Haikyuu: To the Top ended about a month ago. So, it’ll be a while before Haikyuu S5 is announced.

But given the popularity, we can expect it very soon. Taking an example from My Hero Academia, which is a very popular shonen, we can see that with proper success, the gap between two seasons can be less than a year.

Some fans have even started posting questions like, If there will be a fifth season of Haikyuu anime or will there be a Haikyuu Season 5 and the answers to all those is yes!

We are expecting Haikyuu Season 5 premiere date to be around September 2021. It will most probably be in the list of winter anime this year.

A reasonable guess is that we can have the new season in 2022, around the same time as Dragon Ball Super Season 2.

Production I.G has always been the staple studio for Haikyuu and we would like it to stay that way. They have done a great job with the adaptation and we would like to see them keep it up. However, Studio changes are not uncommon – like MAPPA taking AoT from WIT Studio.

As usual, Shueisha and TOHO animation will be the sponsors or producers of Haikyuu Season 5.

The first season had multiple others but we probably can’t expect that from the 5th season. But let us be optimistic and hope that Dentsu, Mainichi Broadcasting Service, and Sony will deem it valuable to fund Haikyuu again!

Haikyuu Premise:

Haikyuu is a series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine under Shueisha and enjoyed a glorious run for 8 years. This accolade winning manga portrays the sport of volleyball, primarily in the high school background.

The story follows the journey of protagonist Shoyo Hinata and deuteragonist Tobio Kageyama as they steadily advance in their volleyball careers. While they met as opponents, they ended up in the same team in high school.

These two went on to form a deadly combo and a marvelous rivalry – each trying to one up the other in every turn!

The manga ended in 2020 by showing amazing advances and a greatly heartwarming ending. One of the strengths of sports series is their ability to have an amazing ensemble cast and Haikyuu completely shines in that department – having a huge number of memorable characters and their own progress in life.

Haikyuu Season 5 Spoilers:

Going ahead, we will divulge some manga spoilers so please read at your own risk. However, we won’t reveal any highly crucial spoilers.

The story so far has focused on Hinata’s first year in Karasuno. The Karasuno Boys Volleyball team has worked tooth and nail to beat the preliminaries.

After taking out Shiratorizawa in Season 3, they qualified for the Nationals – something Karasuno did after many years. Following that, Karasuno stepped into the National area to perform surprisingly well.

With immense hard work portrayed in the fabulous season 4, Karasuno advanced to the third round of the Nationals. First, they beat out Tsubakihara Academy and then they fought Inarizaki High. The second match was significantly harder, owing to the wonderous Miya twins.

And now, Haikyuu Season 5 will portray the 3rd round of the Nationals. Here, they will face their true rivals – Nekoma. This dumpster battle will be excruciatingly hard and Karasuno will manage to pull off a shocking last moment victory against the lifelong rivals.

After that, they face Kanomedai. Here, some fiasco will happen and that will lead to even greater challenges for Karasuno.

Haikyuu Season 5 will probably have two cours, just like Season 4. The first cour can cover most of the Nationals arc and the Second cour can end The Nationals to move on to the penultimate arc.

It should cover around 90 chapters, which would end right before an amazing rematch between the Little Giants can begin!

We will be updating this article with the official release date soon. So stay tuned and read some of our articles like Tower Of God Season 2 and Kaguya Sama Season 3 while you wait.
