After an official announcement from Toei Animation on May 9, 2021, the new Dragon Ball Super movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has released a brand new teaser. Along with the teaser, character designs of quite a few characters were revealed including a brand new character which Akira Toriyama hinted at back in May.
The teaser begins with Goku warming up for a fight and ends with the announcement of the name of the new movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Check out the teaser here –
Besides that teaser gives off a glimpse of how CGI has been infused with the animation of the new movie, it feels more like a game character with a proper 2D animation polish over it.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Character Designs:
And for the character designs, Piccolo with and without the cape, Pan, and Krillin was revealed while two new characters designed by Akira Toriyama himself were also revealed, it is believed to be the movie’s most important part.
While Piccolo is as usual as ever, Krillin is in his Police outfit while Pan is dressed like a kindergartener in a green outfit with a hat on her head.
The new characters scream “I am a Dragon Ball Universe character” by their designs. Both of them look familiar except for their fins on the head and the number on their outfit which kind of looks like a space patrol one.
While one has one shark fin on its head, the other has two fins on the head. The number of their outfit matches their number of fins, it is still unclear if it’s an antagonist or protagonist as they don’t look too strong and intimidating, but you know, power-ups are always available in the DragonBall Universe.
Except for the character designs and the teaser, Piccolo’s house has also been showcased which is built-in Namekian Style.
