With the Final chapter 139, Attack on Titan Manga bids farewell to the 11 year-long journey of a story that taught us the value of freedom. The only thing remaining is the adaptation of the final chapters.
Luckily a short teaser indicating Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2 was announced by MAPPA right after airing episode 16 of the Final Season’s Part 1.
Following Marley’s sudden raid on the Paradis Island and Eren-Reiner facing off each other, the final season of Attack on Titan left us on a cliffhanger.
And fans cannot wait to see the events unfold in the upcoming Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2. The Final season Part 2 of Attack on Titan is slated to release this winter.

Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2 Release Date
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2 will be released on 9th January 2022. Though the exact date is not yet confirmed, Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 17 is slated to release on 9th January 2022.

Keeping in mind the number of projects MAPPA has scheduled to release this year the date might change as the new Jujutsu Kaisen Movie is also slated to release this upcoming winter.
The teaser is said to show the events of the upcoming episode 17 of the Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2. But if you are a manga reader you can tell that the teaser shows the events that take place a bit later in the story.
Though we are not sure about Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2’s series composition, we have created a tentative list of episodes.
The episode list will provide the titles and the number of chapters that might get adapted per episode following the order of events in the manga.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2 Episode Count
Based on the current rate, Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2 should have 14 episodes (approx.) which will adapt the remaining 23 chapters (117-139) of the manga.
The Attack on Titan Final Season Part 1 adapted 26 chapters (91-116) of the manga into 16 episodes, which is approximately 1.6 chapters per episode.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2 Spoilers & Episode List (Tentative)
In this section, I will summarise the events of each episode of the upcoming Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Part 2 based on the calculation of 1.6 chapters per episode of Part 1. The titles and sequence of the events might change based on the series composition of the anime.
The below-mentioned events/titles of each episode are an estimation and in no way are an actual representation of the upcoming season. The official number of episodes and the titles are yet to be announced.
MAJOR SPOILERS
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 17:
The episode titled “Judgement” might adapt events from Chapter (117-118).
- Attack Titan (Eren) is fighting against Armored Titan (Reiner), Jaw Titan (Porco Galliard), and Cart Titan (Pieck).
- Zeke (Beast Titan) appears to help Eren.
- Paradis Island’s Army begins its counter-attack.
- Beast Titan gets shot down by Pieck’s group.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 18:
The episode titled “Two Brothers” might adapt events from Chapter (119-120).
- Reiner, Porco, and Pieck are trying to not let Eren and Zeke meet.
- Zeke screams and turns those who have drunk his spinal fluid into Titans including Falco.
- As a titan, Falco eats Porco and inherits the Jaw Titan.
- Eren’s head was blown off by Gabi’s gunshot.
- Eren finds himself at the point where all the paths connect to the coordinate.
- Eren meets Zeke and the Founder, Ymir Fritz at that point
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 19:
The episode titled “Memories of the Future” might adapt events from Chapter 121.
- Both Zeke and Eren visit their father’s memories.
- It is revealed that the Attack Titan can foresee the future.
- Eren’s future memories influenced Grisha to kill the Reiss family.
- Grisha also reveals to Zeke that Eren’s future will come true in the future.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 20:
The episode titled “From You, 2000 Years Ago” might adapt events from Chapter 122.
- Ymir’s story of origin is shown.
- Eren asks Ymir to lend him her strength so that he could put an end to the word.
- Ymir accepts his wish.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 21:
The episode titled “Island Devils” might adapt events from Chapter (123-124).
- Flashback when Eren and others secretly entered Marley.
- The Rumbling has finally begun.
- Eren addresses all the subjects of Ymir that he will destroy the whole world leaving Paradis Island to end the cycle of hatred once and for all.
- Annie’s hardening comes undone.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 22:
The episode titled “Sunset” might adapt events from Chapter (125-126).
- Annie recalls her past and finds a way to get out of Paradis Island.
- Floch leads the Yeagerists to take control over the Paradis Island when the time comes.
- Hange meets Pieck and Theo Magath with an injured Levi.
- Hange proposed an alliance.
- Armin and Gabi save Falco from Connie who was trying to feed him to a titan.
- Pieck saves Jean and others from the Yeagerists.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 23:
The episode titled “Traitor” might adapt events from Chapter (127-128).
- The members of the alliance get into a fistfight while sharing their sufferings and putting blame on each other.
- Gabi requests everyone to get together and stop the rumbling.
- The alliance team attacks the Yeagerists with the help of the titans of Reiner and Annie.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 24:
The episode titled “The Dawn of Humanity” might adapt events from Chapter (129-130).
- Falco and Pieck use their titan powers to help the overwhelmed Reiner and Annie.
- They become successful in getting off the island with the ship along with the flying boat.
- Keith Shadis and Theo Magath bombard the remaining ship including themselves to keep the Yeagerists from following the escaped ship.
- Flashbacks on how Eren met Yelena and then plotted the following events.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 25:
The episode titled “Wings of Freedom” might adapt events from Chapter (131-132).
- The rumbling enters Marley.
- Armin comes across a young Eren in the paths.
- Then Armin and Annie talk about the time when Armin used to visit her and talk with her silent self.
- Meanwhile, Floch ambushes the alliance team’s ship and fires at the fuel tank of the flying boat creating holes.
- The rumbling reaches and the alliance team manages to get away at the expense of Hange’s life.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 26:
The episode titled “Sinners” might adapt events from Chapter 133.
- Everyone in the alliance team discusses how to stop Eren, while Armin says that he will talk to Eren first, Levi suggests killing Zeke first as after touching him Eren started the Rumbling.
- Armin, Connie, Jean, and Mikasa suddenly find themselves inside the paths where they ask Eren to stop rumbling.
- Eren tells them if they want to stop him they have to kill him.
- Falco reveals his memories of flying above the clouds which indicated him having the abilities of a flying titan.
- The Eldians of Marley are trying to get away from there using the spare airships.
(The Alliance team is mainly comprised of Levi, Hange, Pieck, Falco, Gabi, Connie, Jean, Reiner, Annie, Magath)
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 27:
The episode titled “Battle of Heaven and Earth” might adapt events from Chapter (134-135).
- The whole world prays in time of despair to stop the Rumbling.
- The alliance team finally reaches where Eren is and begins their attack.
- Armin gets caught by a titan.
- Groups of Nine titans from previous eras began to appear on Ymir’s command to stop them from reaching Eren.
- Pieck surrounds the founding titan’s neck with explosives.
- Falco is finally able to take the shape of the flying titan and saves Jean, Reiner, Connie, and others from a tight spot.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 28:
The episode titled “Devote Your Hearts” might adapt events from Chapter (136-137).
- After regrouping, the alliance team resumes their attack again, to save Armin and detonate the explosives.
- Gabi tells everyone about the centipede thing that came out of Eren’s spine on which Pieck suspects to be the Founding titan’s power.
- Levi recalls a few moments from the past while looking for Zeke.
- Armin finds himself in the paths again but this time he meets Zeke.
- Eren and Zeke talked about how they would love to lead a simple life devoid of conflicts.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 29:
The episode titled “A Long Dream” might adapt events from Chapter (137–138).
- The alliance team keeps on fighting while Zeke and Armin meet previous titan inheritors in the paths.
- The explosives triggered by Jean finally severed Eren’s head from the body but the centipede thing is trying to attach to it again.
- Zeke finally appears out from the spine and Levi immediately beheads him without wasting any time.
- The rumbling stops.
- The centipede begins to emit gas to turn normal people into titans, seeing that Levi commands everyone either Ackerman or with titan abilities to fly away leaving the others behind.
- Armin with his Colossal Titan stands in front of Eren with a new titan similar to a colossal one to stop him from connecting to the centipede thing.
- While on other hand Mikasa has a vision where she finds herself in front of Eren who tells her to forget about the scarf.
- Still confused about the vision, she takes out her scarf and says that she can never forget him.
- Mikasa lets Levi know that Eren is inside the mouth of the titan and that she will finish the final job.
Attack on Titan Final Season 4 Episode 30:
The episode titled “Toward the Tree on That Hill” might adapt events from Chapter (138-139).
- Levi creates an opening in between the teeth by using a thunder spear and Mikasa enters through there and beheads Eren and cradles his head.
- She kisses his decapitated head and bids adieu for the final time.
- Then Armin flashbacks to when he met Eren in the paths. Eren told him about why he did it and that he didn’t want to die. Eren said that he wanted to be with Mikasa but to save everyone he had to choose this path.
- The power of titans gets erased from the world due to Mikasa’s choice of freeing Ymir.
- While everyone remembers how they met Eren in the paths and that he sacrificed himself for Paradis’s sake.
- Eren erased their memories until he had reached his goal of making his friends the global heroes.
- Mikasa takes off with the head to give it a proper burial at the tree they used to play in their childhood.
- Life continues as Yeagerists grow their forces while Armin and the other survivors are trying to bring peace to the islands as the peace ambassadors.
- The story ends with a bird wrapping a scarf around Mikasa. She looks up at the bird and thanks Eren once more for wrapping the scarf around her as promised.
Conclusion:
Though fans are hoping for a 10 episode series followed by a movie to conclude the series, it seems unlikely because of the number of releases MAPPA has this year.
However, looking at the grand success of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train at the box office, MAPPA might just make a 1-hour film to bid farewell to this gem of a series. What do you think?
