‘Bastard!!’ Previews First Five Episodes of Anime With a Wild New Teaser
The Bastard!! manga started serialization in 1988, and after four decades, the series will finally receive a well-deserved anime.
Bastard!! is famous for its heavy metal plot and vintage art style. Add to that an ancient power-crazy protagonist, and you have the perfect recipe for a dark fantasy anime.
Netflix will premiere the Bastard!! anime in 2022 with 24 episodes split into two cours. A new trailer gives us a glimpse of the series’ protagonist and his lunatic laughter.
The video shows how Dark Schneider, the protagonist, was freed once again. He is a powerful wizard who was locked inside the body of a 14-year old boy, and only a virgin’s kiss could free him.
As the kingdom is in danger, Dark Schneider’s help becomes infallible, and he is freed. Nobody estimated that this wizard might not want to help them after being suppressed for years.
Some extra cast members have also been announced for the upcoming anime:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Lucien Renlen | Kanae Itō | Yui (Sword Art Online) |
Abigail | Tomokazu Sugita | Gintoki Sakata (Gintama) |
Kall-Su | Kensho Ono | Tetsuya Kuroko (Kuroko’a Basketball) |
Sheila Tuel Meta-Ilicana | Nao Tōyama | Chiho Sasaki (The Devil is a Part-Timer!) |
Netflix Reveals a Fantastic Visual for 2022 Anime of ‘Bastard!!’
Coldrain will perform the anime’s opening theme song, and Tielle will provide the ending theme.
Bastard!! is a vintage manga with an explicit portrayal of gore.
The anime will be intriguing as we will encounter a protagonist who can destroy armies with just a flick of his hand and villains who can threaten even this solid hunk of muscle and magic.
