The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Light Novel Announces Anime Adaptation
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is a pretty self-explanatory title. But if you expected it to have a literal angel or some divine creature as the main character, then I’m sorry to disappoint you.
The light novel is nice and refreshing for many reasons, the primary one being that it has no crazy elements like magic or supernatural forces. Instead, it’s just a sweet high school love story full of comedy and some valuable lessons.
Saekisan and Hanekoto’s romcom light novel The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten has announced an anime adaptation under production.
The story revolves around the protagonist Amane Fujimiya, an average high schooler and the neighbor of his school’s most popular girl, Mahiru Shiina.
To keep envious guys and other troubles at bay, Amane has always maintained a distance from Mahiru.
But Mahiru is not just a pretty face. She is also her grade’s top student and is good at every other activity, sports, and house chores. She’s not called an angel for no reason.
One fateful day, Amane lent his umbrella to Mahiru, standing in the rain with a lost expression.
Amane didn’t know that this simple gesture of kindness would turn into Mahiru taking care of him like a caring mother looking after meals, cleaning, and other tasks.

Otonari is one of my favorite rom-com stories out there, but reading a novel becomes a task at times. That’s why I’m glad it’s finally getting an anime.
Moreover, I can’t wait to watch the couple’s endearing bond and development as individuals in anime form.
