Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Anime Reveals a Classroom Visual Featuring the MCs
Aharen-san wa Hakarenai is on its way to become the romcom of the year in 2022.
The manga has gained enormous popularity since its serialization began, and now, an anime adaptation is in the works, and we cannot stop gushing over it.
It features two eccentric characters named Aharen and Raidou, who check out all the requirements of a classroom romance trope.
Aharen is a tiny doll-looking girl who doesn’t understand the concept of distance and space, and Raidou is the only one who doesn’t get uneasy by her unusual behavior.
We obviously cannot stop talking about the couple, and the franchise keeps giving us more and more reasons to continue.
The upcoming romantic comedy Aharen-san wa Hakarenai revealed the first key visual featuring Aharen and Raidou for the anime’s April 2022 premiere.

The scene is of Aharen and Raidou inside their classroom, sitting unusually close. Their desks are practically stuck to each other, with Aharen and her things covering half of Raidou’s desk.
Although Raidou has a menacing face and build, he has a kind and helpful personality. After he picks up Aharen’s eraser for her in class, she mistakes his kind gesture for something more and believes them to be best friends.
Another problem is that Aharen’s voice is awfully quiet. You can be standing right next to her, but her voice will seem like she’s miles away. This results in Raidou being confused about her sudden over-friendly gestures towards him.
Moreover, the franchise revealed two more cast members that will be joining the team, and we have the list right here for you:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Mitsuki Ōshiro | M.A.O | Shion (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) |
Ms. Tōharu | Kana Hanazawa | Shiemi Moriyama (Blue Exorcist) |
Aharen-San wa Hakarenai with Eccentric MC Makes Anime Debut in April 2022
No matter how cliche they get, rom-com is a genre that brings me the most comfort.
I mean, who doesn’t love to see cute romance and drown in the pain and suffering of never getting to experience the kind of love they show in manga and anime?
So, this best friend-to-lover story is the perfect watch for a date night but is advised not to be binged when you’re feeling lonely for obvious reasons.
About Aharen-san wa Hakarenai
Aharen-san wa Hakarenai is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Asato Mizu. It began serialization in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ service in January 2017, and has been compiled into eleven tankōbon volumes.
The story follows the “indecipherable” daily life of the short and quiet Reina Aharen and Raidou who sits next to her in class. Aharen is not so good at gauging the distance between people, and Raidou initially sensed some distance between the two of them.
Then one day, when Raidou picked up the eraser that Aharen had dropped, the distance between them suddenly became uncomfortably close.
