With the trend of cold, overpowered protagonists catching the spotlight, Second Life Ranker surely fits all those criteria to deserve an anime adaptation.
Second Life Ranker provides a protagonist who is cold-hearted to others while being warm to those around him. In addition to that, he’s also calculative and careful in nature. Who doesn’t love a protagonist who has got it all?
Even though it may sound flashy, the story really gives enough plot to sympathize with him. The side characters are well-written and given focus so that they don’t merge with the background.
The world-building in Second Life Ranker is exceptionally well done. This idea of world-building is received well in the community for beautifully linking power levels, artifacts, and other elements.
The story has a fusion of magic, Qi, and the various Godly and Demonic societies of our Earthly myths co-existing in its plot which give the readers an interesting read.
The story has comparing elements to Solo Leveling and Tower of God, and since they’re getting anime adaptations, Second Life Ranker is definitely expected to get animated very soon.
Second Life Ranker Anime Possibility
Written by Sadoyeon, Second Life Ranker manhwa is based on a web novel that goes by the same name. The web novel has enjoyed its fair share of popularity since it debuted in the year 2017.
Currently, on June 2022, the web novel came to an end with 862 chapters. The second Life Ranker web novel has 800 chapters divided into 32 volumes and 62 extra chapters after the ending of the main story.
This makes for a perfect story to be adapted into 24-episode anime. As the story is completed, it’s easier to devise a story by taking out parts that may not seem good for adaptation.
The manhwa, Second Life Ranker as of now has 136 chapters serialized. Surely there is a long way to go until the whole story is serialized.
The story has a gradual progression of exploring various themes, including romance, so situations and events do not seem rushed.
Second Life Ranker definitely has a good potential as a story to get an anime.
Second Life Ranker Anime Release Date
Stories with leveling systems have always been around in web novels and comics but they will also be a massive hit when it gets adapted into anime.
Second Life Ranker can serve as one of the starting animes to mark this genre. The story has a good realistic feel to it which helps in getting immersed into it.
The web novel has been translated by Wuxiaworld and the manhwa is serialized by Kakao Corp, which gives it an immense boost to be on top of the list of animes to be adapted.
Maybe, when Second Life Ranker hits the 200-chapter mark in June 2023, the anime adaptation will be announced.
With Lookism Anime getting adapted by Netflix, we can also expect Netflix to pick up this story other than Crunchyroll which is known to adapt new stories.
Second Life Ranker Season 1 Plot
The misunderstanding must be cleared in the beginning – this is not an isekai story. Although the name suggests so, it’s a whole ploy.
Two twins, Cha Yeon-woo and Cha Jeong-woo grew up amidst all problems but they were happy as long as they were together. After losing their father, they lived with their mother helping her with tasks.
They grew up well as one enrolled in the army and the other lived doing common jobs in Korea when their mother fell ill. Having no other option to save her, Jeong-woo went to some unknown place for five years while the twin brother waited for him.
Within these years, their mother passed away, and having no news of Jeong-woo, he became restless. One day, Yeon-woo receives a package with a stopwatch that belonged to his brother, Jeong-woo.
Yeon-woo falls in shock by the news of his brother’s death but he also starts devising a plan. Knowing about Obelisk and another world existing, he uses his advantage of being identical twins to go into the world as Cheong-woo.
Hence, starts his journey of revenge in this world as he plans to kill everyone who betrayed his beloved brother. But how far does he go for revenge?
Meeting new people – friends and enemies, he continues to make his way forward in the tower by exacting his revenge.
What secrets of the Tower are left to unfold?
Surely. It’s entertaining to see if a protagonist drives forward with the goal of revenge. But rather than losing it all in the fire of hatred, here’s the catch – he’s a cold person who plans things before initiating his actions.
A game of wits along with the use of swordplay and magic is bound to entertain anyone if Second Life Ranker is adapted into an anime.
