From the most recent anime trailer for Pokémon Journeys: The Series, we got to know that Ash will have a reunion with his old Pokémon, and that at least one of these will accompany him on his adventures again.
In the preview, Ash can be seen once again returning to his hometown where he has a meeting with Professor Oak and his former companions. This is how he can be seen alongside Totodile, Bulbasaur, Quilava, Charizard, Snorlax, Donphan, Talonflame, Bayleef, Heracross, among others.
In another of the moments of the trailer, he can be seen fighting along with his Infernape against a Moltres, and being accompanied by Gary and Goh. At the moment it is unknown, if this is part of a single episode, or will accompany it for a longer period.
The trailer also focuses on the next part of the anime, recounting a quest that trainers will perform for the legendary Pokémon, Mew.
This series also appears to be moving the characters to the Crown Tundra area of Galar, as the characters can be seen wearing the costumes that appear in that region in the game.
