With Attack On Titan finally wrapping up in its final Chapter 139, it has officially joined the ranks of classic completed manga series. This includes the likes of Fullmetal Alchemist. And the exciting news is that now, the creators of these two massively popular anime franchises are set to meet in an upcoming interview.
Though the two hit series don’t have much similarity when it comes down to it, the adventures of the Elric Brothers and the Scout Regiment successfully dealt with heavy and horrific concepts, as well as existential questions that their respective fans absolutely love.
With Attack On Titan having finally finished earlier this month, Fullmetal Alchemist’s manga ended more than a decade ago. The original anime adaptation of the story of the Elric brothers did differentiate itself and deviated from the source manga, etching out a different ending that Hiromu Arakawa herself didn’t include in her own work.
So, to present something which was more similar to the events of the manga, as well as give the show itself a major makeover, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was launched gears after the conclusion of its predecessor.
When Will the Interview be Released and Where?
The upcoming interview will be such an interesting conversation since the two masterminds, Attack On Titan’s Hajime Isayama and Fullmetal Alchemist’s Hiromu Arakawa are set to ask each other questions. The interview will be published in the upcoming issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, which will be released on June 9th of this summer. We simply can’t wait to find out all the interesting details about both these legendary series from the very creators themselves!
As far as we know, both Fullmetal Alchemist and Attack On Titan have no plans to release a sequel or spin-off series down the line. This makes sense because both the series’ endings concluded on a very final note. Also, because Hajime Isayama’s anime is being adapted fairly closely to the manga’s events, it may not need a reboot like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
One can never be sure though, only time will tell. All things considered, both these anime franchises have managed to collect a wide following of avid fans and will be remembered as some of the best series in the anime community for decades.
