Beelzebub was a wildly popular series that had the right amount of comedy and action. While it wasn’t a very serious anime, many people liked that it didn’t take itself seriously.
However, unfortunately, there was only one season made and Beelzebub Season 2 has never seen the light of day.
The funny thing about this unusual turn of events is that Beelzebub Season 1 ended on a very peculiar note.
Many fans are furthermore disappointed with this outcome because it was an amazing show. It gave many fans the feel-good and casual vibes that were a refreshing departure from much popular anime.
So, let’s take a close look at the possibilities of the release of Beelzebub Season 2. Will it ever get released? Or is it just a false hope that many fans still harbor?
Beelzebub Season 2 Release: Is it likely?
Beelzebub Season 1 aired for a year from January 2011 till March 2012. A total of 60 episodes for the first season got released, after which the studio stopped releasing more episodes.
Because the anime had already progressed faster than the manga, the studio decided to craft a new ending.
The last episode i.e., Episode 60, was an anime-only episode that wasn’t faithful to the manga.
That’s why the ending felt very rushed, which left a very bitter taste in many fans’ mouths. Though the anime had mostly been faithful to the manga, this ending was a huge surprise.
So, some fans are going as far as to request the producers to act like Episode 60 doesn’t exist.
They recommend for it to start the Beelzebub Season 2 on an entirely new note. If there’s a Season 2, it might get released in 2022 since anime production takes plenty of time.
What will Beelzebub Season 2 cover?
The anime had been able to cover around 13 volumes and a few chapters of Volume 14 of the manga.
More manga volumes have been released and thus, many fans are questioning why they’re not making a Season 2. Fortunately, there’s no dearth of source materials for the anime but the producers aren’t willing to take it up.
The second season of Beelzebub will likely cover the uncompleted events of the Akumano Academy Arc. There will be many epic fight scenes and plots like that of Hilda fighting the 394 demons and Behemoth.
