Unfortunately, the 18th and 19th episodes of the anime Shaman King are getting delayed by two weeks due to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which are being held in Tokyo this year.

The official website of Shaman King stated that the episodes, which were initially scheduled to be released on 29th July and 5th August respectively, will now be postponed to 12th and 19th August.

Back in 2004, the series ended abruptly without completing the plotline. The excellent thing here is that the suspension is unlike the last time because the production team has ensured us by revealing the postponed dates.

I am pretty sure that Shaman King fans such as yourself were highly disappointed because of the news.

But fret not, since we are not the only ones in the boat! Various anime series such as Love Live! Superstar!! are also being delayed and postponed due to the Olympic Games 2020.

Shaman King will have 52 episodes, and 35 volumes of the complete edition of the manga have been announced to be adapted into the anime.

I empathize with the difficulty of waiting for our favorite anime episodes to release. And if that wasn’t enough, we are further aggravated with it being delayed. But I’d suggest not to feel dejected because you can always watch the previous episodes again or re-read the manga!

About Shaman King

Shaman King is a manga written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump from June 30, 1998.

The series received an abrupt end on August 30, 2004, leaving fans disappointed.

The manga received a reprint in 2009 to give its fans the true ending to the series. It also received an adaptation by studio Xebec in 2001 that was directed by Seiji Mizushima.

It introduces us to a world of shamans. These Shamans are powerful beings who can see and communicate with spirits, ghosts, and gods.

Once in 500 years, a prestigious tournament called The Shaman Fight is organized, and the winner gets to shape the world in his image with the aid of the great spirits. The story revolves around Manta Oyamada, who has a chance encounter with You Asakura that completely changes his life. Asakura aims to become the Shaman King, aided by Manta and his 600-year-old samurai friend Amidamaru. They set out to fulfill You’s dream.
