My Hero Academia Sets Stage for Meta Liberation Army with New Theme Songs
Now that season five of My Hero Academia is almost halfway through, it is time for a change of pace, and the focus now shifts to the villains.
Unlike previous seasons, the current season of the anime started on a fairly non-serious note. While discoveries about One for All and the joint training were very good, the stakes were pretty low when compared to past seasons because of any villains’ absence.
Now that we enter the Meta Liberation Army saga, things are about to get serious, and they have brought out just the right artists to match the upcoming vibe!
MAN WITH A MISSION will be performing the opening theme “Merry-Go-Round” for the second half of the season and Soushi Sakiyama will perform the ending theme “Uso Janai”.
MAN WITH A MISSION is a Japanese rock band with a lot of experience in the anime industry. They have performed opening themes for animes like Log Horizon, The Seven Deadly Sins, and most recently, Vinland Saga.
While Soushi Sakiyama is an experienced pop artist, he is fairly new to anime music. His song “Undulation” was used as the opening theme for 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team.
The second half of the current season will focus on the League of Villains rather than following our UA students. It follows the League facing off against the Meta Liberation Army, another villain group that opposes Quirk restriction laws.
This arc will also give us a deeper insight into the character of Shigaraki Tomura.
Why does Shigaraki Tomura wear the Hands all over his body?
As expected, the tone of the show is about to get more serious than usual. The gloves are off when two villain groups face off against each other for supremacy, and some dark J-Rock music is just the right thing to go along with it.
