RE-MAIN the Competitive Water Polo Anime Teases Visual And Reveals Rival Cast
Just when people think MAPPA’s domination is all over, the studio gets back with another anime! After the success of Attack on Titan, Kakegurui and Jujutsu Kaisen, MAPPA has decided to venture into the sports genre with RE-MAIN.
The upcoming anime follows the story of high school student Minato Kiyomizu and his journey in the world of water polo. Despite suffering from an accident in his childhood, Minato returns to playing water polo with his friends.
Along the way, they face numerous competitions, rival schools and much more!
The official website of RE-MAIN teased a new key visual and announced that the anime would premiere on July 3.
The visual depicts Minato and his friends from high school, including Eitaro Oka, Jo Jojima, and Shugo Amihama. The characters are standing near a pool, getting ready to play water polo. The logo of the anime is also visible in the picture.
The anime will air on TV Asahi in Japan.
Earlier, MAPPA had also released a promo video for the anime which gave us an idea about Minato’s past.
While the main cast and crew were confirmed earlier, the production house revealed the voice actors for the rival Shogakukan High School students:

The Unrelenting Studio, MAPPA, Serves Original Water Polo Anime In 2021, RE-MAIN
With the highly experienced cast and crew, we can expect the series to be a real treat for sports lovers. And with MAPPA involved, the cinematography and animation are without a doubt going to be top-notch.
Will Minato and his friends be able to achieve success at water polo? How will they stand up to the challenge of their rival schools? We will find out when the anime premieres on July 3!
About RE-MAIN
RE-MAIN is an original water polo anime by MAPPA studio, and it will premiere in 2021. Kiyoshi Matsuda is directing the anime, and Shiho Tanaka is taking care of character designs.
Minato Kiyomizu, the protagonist of the story, had to leave competitive water polo in his middle school’s third year due to a traumatic incident. When he enters high school, he starts playing again while building up his own team.
