In the paths, Zeke tried to control the situation. He tried to show Eren the flaws and wanted to build a safer world together. Grisha ordered Ymir to make the Eldians sterile.
However, his plan fell flat due to his misunderstanding of Ymir as a person. We then see the story of Ymir. As Eren runs and embraces her, we see the story of thousands of years ago.
Back then, the world was normal. Ymir’s people were taken as slaves by Chief Fritz and his tribe. Ymir was blamed for a crime and she was hunted like a dog. During this chase, she fell into a chasm and came in contact with something. This fluid-like organism merged with her spine to give her new powers.
Ymir transformed into a titan for the first time. However, she came back to Fritz and remained a slave. Her powers were used for good and pretty soon, Fritz became king of a very powerful nation and the father of Ymir’s children.
One day, Ymir saved him from an assassination attempt. As she died, her body was fed to their children – Maria, Rosa, and Sina.
This eating of spines continued and thus, the titan powers kept being passed on. As for Ymir, she became trapped in the paths, doomed to spend time listening to the orders of the descendants. However, Eren embraces her and frees her from this curse – she is not a slave, she has a choice. Ymir cries tears of happiness.
In the present, Eren transforms into the gigantic founder titan. He crumbles the walls and the Colossal titans are locked in to begin the rumbling. They will trample everything in their path.
Eren connects to all the Eldians all over the world and tells them how he plans to eliminate everyone but the people of Paradis.

Zeke ended up with a complete defeat. His last few moments were so hectic. The man struggled like crazy to meet his brother, and then, got betrayed by the same brother.
Following this, he turns the tables for a brief moment only to have it reversed again and he loses completely!
Why was Ymir crying?
Ymir has been a slave all her life. Eren is the first one who got to her and treated her like a real person and not a slave. He embraced her and showed her that she can choose.
In Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 6, we might see her again.
Can Eren be stopped?
At this point, our protagonist seems unstoppable. He is in total control and the mindless colossal titans will trample everything. There is no stopping this unless Eren himself is eliminated, or convinced otherwise.
But the question is, who will do that? No person has the power to get to Eren.
Except for his own friends. Maybe the Survey Corps members will decide against this rumbling. Even though Eren is doing it for them, this mass genocide will probably be unacceptable.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 6 Spoilers

- The name of the next episode is set to be ‘Thaw’. This refers to Eren undoing all kinds of titan hardening.
- The armored titan is the most famous one to use this. His armor is basically a great usage of this hardening function.
- Lara Tybur was seen using this hardening function to protect herself. Only by using the Jaw Titan, was Eren able to damage her.
- But most importantly, when the hardening is removed, our very own Annie comes free. She did this to herself and has been stagnant for the longest time. But now, it is time for her to come out.
- Gabi and Reiner are out to save Falco, who is nowhere to be seen.
- The latter laments his loss and passes out.
- However, Gabi keeps on searching for her friend.
- She is determined to kill Eren and stop the rumbling.
- As for Falco, he is with Mikasa, Armin, Connie and Jean.
- Jean wonders if there was no other way for Eren to save his people.
- However, he acknowledges that Eren is doing this solely for the sake of his friends, he won’t euthanize his people and would never sacrifice Historia!
