Women’s Soccer Anime- ‘Farewell, My Dear Cramer’ Reveals 3 New Cast Members

Spring 2021 will be an interesting year for sports anime lovers as we will be getting a soccer-based anime after so many years. Yes, I am talking about the Farewell, My Dear Cramer anime that will premiere in April.

Be it basketball or soccer, a sports anime adds intensity to it, making every situation look much more dramatic. I hope those who grew up watching Inazuma Eleven and Captain Tsubasa can relate to what I am saying.

The official website for Farewell, My Dear Cramer manga revealed three new cast members for its anime adaptation. The three voice-actors will be playing the roles of Mizuki Kaji, Haruna Itō, and Mao Tsukuda.

Along with the cast details, the official website has also revealed the character designs for the three rival soccer players.

The mangaka, Naoshi Arakawa, is well known for his previous work, Your Lie in April, which still makes anyone break down into tears. So, expectations are already pretty high for the anime.

Apart from the television anime, the project also consists of a film that will hit Japanese theatres around the same time. Recently, the franchise revealed a promotional video for the film that portrayed Nozomi’s resolve to play soccer.

Very similar to Haikyuu, the protagonist, Sumire Suo, has to team-up with her rival. It will be interesting to see how ‘competing against each other’ gradually turns into ‘depending on each other’ with each match.

However, a story revolving around a women’s team sets the anime apart from any other soccer anime we have seen before. And if you are tired of these male-dominated sports shows, Farewell, My Dear Cramer anime may turn out to be the perfect break for you.
