Topher Grace Returns to Television with Home Economics
Topher Grace is coming back to television with a lead role in a TV series. Twenty-four years after he debuted on The 70s Show as Eric Forman, the actor has landed a role in another sitcom, this time for the ABC network. Home Economics, a show about the relationship between three siblings, has been ordered by the cable network and will premiere sometime in spring 2021.
The series will deal with three siblings who have achieved varying degrees of success in their adult lives. One sibling is a member of the elite one-percenters, the other an average middle class and the third is struggling to make ends meet. Reportedly, Grace has signed up to play the second sibling, who is in the middle, both by age and economic status.
The series is being developed by Michael Colton and John Aboud. Much of the story will be inspired by Colton’s own life. The writer duo has worked on other comedy projects like Children’s Hospital and Allen Gregory in television and the Penguins of Madagascar movie.
Both the writers will serve as executive producers along with Grace, and Eric and Kim of the Tannenbaum Company.
Caitlin McGee, Jimmy Tatro, Karla Souza, Sasheer Zamata, Shiloh Bearman, Jordyn Curet, Chloe Jo Rountree and JeCobi Swain are also slated to star in the series.
