Tom and Jerry are Back With A Live-Action Movie! WB Drops Trailer
If you loved cartoons during your childhood, chances are this article will make you very happy. Tom and Jerry are being brought to life once again in a live-action/animated movie scheduled to release in 2021! The iconic duo will be coming back on screen after 29 years and fans cannot wait for it. Warner Bros, the production force behind the upcoming movie dropped a trailer on Tuesday. From the trailer, it seems like the movie will be a fun ride.
The movie will reignite the age-old rivalry between Tom and the mischievous Jerry. When the mouse sets up camp in a grand New York hotel, the hotel management demands that event planner Kayla (Chloe Grace Moretz) should get rid of him before the festivities of the ‘wedding of the century’ begin. It is her idea to use natural pest control and Tom is brought into the hotel to exterminate him. But soon, all three realize that a bigger threat is conspiring against them.
The idea for a Tom and Jerry live-action movie had been in the talks for a long time. It has been in the early stages of development since the early 2000s, ever since other cartoons like Alvin and the Chipmunks got their own movies. The Tom and Jerry movie would follow the same combination of animation and live-action characters.
It remains to be seen whether the film can bring back the sheer joy the William Hanna and Joseph Barbera-created cartoon series gave to its millions of fans.
Apart from Chloe Grace Moretz, Tom and Jerry also stars Michael Pẽna, Ken Jeong, Colin Jost and Rob Delaney.
The movie is scheduled for release on March 5th, 2021.
