The Full-Time Wife Escapist Airs New Year’s Special Drama Today!
The Full-Time Wife Escapist is a romance manga with comic elements in it. It received a drama adaptation in 2016 which was very popular in Japan. The series is also known as “Running Away is Shameful, but Useful.”
Mikuri gets a job as a housekeeper due to her father’s acquaintance.
However, her parents have to leave for the countryside soon, and they cannot trust her to live alone with a temporary job. A devilish plan strikes her, which involves a “contract marriage.”
The official website for the live-action television series revealed that The Full-Time Wife Escapist will be getting a New Year’s Special on 3rd November.
The title of the special drama is “Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu Ganbare Jinrui! Shinshun Special!!”.
Additional cast for the television drama has also been revealed. Naomi Ishida will be playing Ibuki Hanamura. Ibuki is a school classmate of Yuri and works as the head nurse in a hospital.
Munetaka Aoki will play Shinnosuke Haibara. Shinnosuke is Hiramasa’s boss at the new workplace. A striking contrast to Hiramasa, he is a sporty person. The cast from the previous live-action series will be reprising their roles.
The television series adaptation first aired in October 2016. The drama soon became very popular in Japan. Its ending theme, Koi by Gen Hoshino (Hiramasa Tsuzaki), became a dancing-craze in Japan.
The first live-action series aired on TBS, and it has a total of 11 episodes. In the series, Mikuri and Hiramasa develop feelings for each other as they live together under the pretence of false marriage.
The original manga by Tsunami Umino won the 39th Kodansha Manga Awards in the Best Shoujo Manga category.
