The anime series producer OLM has revealed a new visual and a few casting updates. They also gave information about the release details of the anime. Yasuki Tanaka wrote and illustrated the manga series “Summer Time Rendering”. It was published in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump +. This is Shueisha’s Digital Magazine. It ran from October 2017 to February 2021. It has a total of 13 volumes. There are 139 chapters in total. OLM will be adapting the manga series to an anime. The franchise has also announced a live-action adaption. Lastly, there will be a real escape game based on the series.
Summer Time Rendering: Visual & Cast Updates!
Studio OLM released a key visual of the series. It is a snapshot of the seven most important characters of the show. Ushio and Shinpei are the center attraction of this visual. The new announcement included the four new members of the cast. Youko Hikasa will be coming in as Hizuru Minamikata. Jin Urayama will be taking on the role of Ginjiro Nezu. Kensho Ono bagged the role of Sou Hishigata. Lastly, Maki Kawase took the role of Tokiko Hishigata.
Natsuki Hanae has been offered the main character role. Anna Nagase will be voicing Ushio. Saho Shirasu will be the voice actor for Mio Kofune. Moreover, Ayumu Watanabe is directing the series. He has worked before on “Children of the Sea”. Hiroshi Seko is in charge of the scripts. They have worked before on Jujutsu Kaisen. Miki Matsumoto will be showing skills as a character designer. Additionally, Keiichi Okabe, Ryuichi Takada, and Keigo Hoashi will be the music composers of the anime.
Plot Details!
Summer Time Rendering is an anime series in the mystery-thriller genre. The story revolves around a young boy named Shinpei. His parents died when he was young. So, he was taken in by the Kofune family. He grew up with his childhood friend, Ushio. The story starts when he returns to his hometown after a while for the funeral of Ushio. However, although the funeral went smoothly, something strange happened on the island. Is Ushio’s death really an accident?
The story follows Shinpei, who observes the island’s mysterious residents and tries to understand what is happening. He aims to solve the mystery of Ushio’s death. But for that, he has to find out who is lying and why.
Summer Time Rendering: Release Details
As per the official update, the anime series will premiere on April 14, 2022. It will be a summer release. There will be 25 episodes, with a two-cour season run.
