Los Angeles Comic Con 2020 Cancelled and Rescheduled for 2021
The Los Angeles Comic Con event, which was scheduled for December 11-13, 2020, is cancelled and the event will now take place next year.
The official website for the Los Angeles Comic Con announced the cancelation of the event, and that the next year’s event will take place from 24-26th September 2021.
According to the website, the event is cancelled due to the update on reopening plans for theme parks, given by Governor Newsom on 7th October.
The Governor announced that he had decided not to provide reopening guidelines yet for theme parks, and by extension, events.
Without guidelines, LA County, the City, or event organizers cannot come up with plans and changes, ensuring everyone’s safety. Thus, the event had to be rescheduled.
Last year around 123,000 people attended the event. Customers who have purchased the tickets for 2020 can either get their ticket refunded or can roll-over the ticket for 2021. All refund requests will be processed within the next week.
100% roll-over will be honoured even if the price increases in 2021.
The website also announced that all the artists who were booked for 2020 have rolled over to 2021. Zachery Levi and Tom Welling, who were booked for 2020, will be seen next September. Over 400 exhibitors and artists are booked for 2021.
The website concluded the announcement by stating that the safety of fans, exhibitors, talent, and staff will always be their number one priority. These changes were made to promote safety and will remain in effect until September 2021.
