In/Spectre Season 2: Confirmed! Production Details & Release Date
Fans don’t need to worry about In/Spectre Season 2 as the makers had already renewed it last year. Ever since the green light came, everyone is getting curious to know when they’ll be able to see the second season on the screens. The first season came as a blend of different genres. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough to impress the fans. So, when will the sequel of the anime come out? Here is everything you need to know.
In/Spectre, also known as Kyokou Suiri in Japanese, is a supernatural thriller mystery anime series. It is the remake of Kyo Shirodaira’s light novel series of the same title. Brain’s Base studio animated the first installment of this show and will likely reprise its role in the second one as well. The anime first premiered on January 12, 2020, and ended after running for twelve episodes. Its season finale aired on March 29, 2020.
In/Spectre Season 2: Renewal & Production Details!
Last year, in November, Crunchyroll announced that the anime series is receiving a second season. Not only that, but they also revealed that the sequel is already in production. Surprisingly, the author of the LN series Kyo Shirodaira wasn’t anticipating the sequel and was surprised when its news surfaced online. But in the end, he was also happy about In/Spectre Season 2. Several voice actors of the series also expressed their excitement by posting to their social media handles.
The officials didn’t announce the studio staff for the anime’s sequel, but most of the staff from the inaugural season will likely reprise their roles. As of now, the upcoming season must be in its final stages of production.
Light Novel/Manga Compared To The Anime
The Kyokou Suiri anime is based on the LN series of the same name, which also has a manga adaptation. The LN series only has three books, whereas the manga has published a total of 14 volumes so far. Brain Base did a fine job in adapting the source material. The anime closely follows the footsteps of its parental content, and that was one of the main reasons for its success. Its first season ended on the last chapter of the sixth volume of the manga series. Now, In/Spectre Season 2 will continue right the plot from the seventh volume and take its storyline forward.

By the end of the anime’s first season, Kotoko and Kuro began to date each other. Saki-San possesses no threat now, but Rikka Sakuragawa, the older cousin of Kuro, is the real danger now. Currently, he is hiding, and in the meantime, Kotoko and Kuro solve several mysteries. Now, in the second season, both of them will try their best to track Rikka. However, the latter is a hard one to find. In/Spectre Season 2 will also feature the apartment incident in which a number of suicides begin to take place in the same building Rikka just moved in.
In/Spectre Season 2: Release Date
The second season of the anime is in development for more than half a year now. It is likely that it will only take 7-8 months more before coming out. Therefore, the fans can expect In/Spectre Season 2 to release by the end of 2022 or early 2023. We will update this section with the official trailer and exact premiere date once they come out.
