SpongeBob Spin-off The Patrick Star Show in the Works at Nick
The beloved Patrick Star from the SpongeBob series is ready with a show of his own. The Patrick Star Show is officially in the works!
It was in early 2019 that Nickelodeon president Brian Robbins announced that the network would be developing its first spinoff project with SpongeBob Square Pants characters.
Now, SpongeBob’s buddy is getting his own series and, in the vein of The Larry Sanders Show, Patrick will be getting his own late-night talk show.
A 13 episode order is likely, and Deadline reports that voiceover work for the series has already begun.
Sharing details of the new Nickelodeon animated series, Deadline said:
“According to sources, The Patrick Star Show is in the vein of The Larry Sanders Show and Comedy Bang! Bang!, with Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke) hosting his own late-night talk show. I hear the series would revolve around Patrick and his family.”
The first SpongeBob spin-off to get a green light was Kamp Koral, the upcoming 13-episode, CG-animated SpongeBob prequel series, which recently moved from Nickelodeon to sibling streamer CBS All Access.
The original SpongeBob SquarePants series arrived in 1999. It was all about a yellow sea sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants, who enjoys being a cook at Krusty Krab and lives in the Pacific Ocean.
He embarks on various adventures with his friends at Bikini Bottom.
Ever since then, SpongeBob SquarePants has reigned as the No 1 kids’ animated series on TV for the past 18 years.
Along the way, it has been contributing generously to the world a galaxy of beloved stars, pop culture catchphrases and memes, theatrical releases, consumer products, a Tony-winning Broadway musical and a global fan base.
