Chainsaw Man Teases Announcements Tomorrow, Maybe an Anime?
Demons have always been a popular element in Japanese manga and anime. The material within their genres often includes hunting demons, using their powers, or the protagonist being a demon.
Animes like Blue Exorcist(Ao no Exorcist), Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba), and Kekkaishi are well known. While these animes can include complex storylines, protagonists with a sad background or a hidden plot altogether, there are also animes like Beelzebub that are comedies.
Chainsaw Man is a manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, popularly known for Fire Punch, that follows the same theme.
Weekly Shonen Jump covered a story today stating that Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man would be making an announcement tomorrow.
The announcement will accompany the release of its 8th compiled volume on August 4.
This mysterious information about a notice has sent fans into a frenzy. While there are many things that fans are speculating about, most of them revolve around an anime adaptation.
@YonkouProd had previously tweeted in May that Chainsaw Man would receive an anime adaptation.
Although there was no official announcement, the tweet excited fans nonetheless.
Otakus love anime adaptations of their favourite mangas, but their biggest concern always lies with the show’s animation, especially in mangas with intricate artwork.
After seeing a massive response from the fanbase, Weekly Shonen Jump tweeted to calm fans down, asking them not to jump to conclusions.
Readers are all concerned that it is too soon for the manga to get an animation and scoffing off that “it might just be a sticker book.”
This update about an announcement tomorrow sure has fans looking at their clocks, to know what it is all about.
About Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man is a manga written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, popularly known for Fire Punch. It began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from December 3, 2018.
As a part of the JUMP START initiative, the first three chapters of the manga were published digitally in English by Viz Media with its Japanese release.
The story revolves around Denji, who is forced to kill demons by the Yakuza to pay off his father’s debt. Denji has a pet devil dog named Pochita that has characteristics similar to a chainsaw.
After being left for dead by the Yakuza, Pochita merges with Denji to save him. This fusion grants him the powers of a chainsaw devil.
Powered up with the ability to transform his body into chainsaws, Denji sets out for revenge. Denji soon catches the eye of an official demon hunter who offers him to work at the Public Safety Bureau.
