Ufotable Releases New Teaser Visual for Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu Film!
If you were worried that an anime film adaptation of Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu had been scrapped, I have good news: it is very much alive and well.
It’s been a whole year since we last heard anything about the movie’s production, and now we finally have something to look forward to in 2022.
The existence of the Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu anime film project has been confirmed by ufotable with a stunning teaser visual. It will premiere in theaters in 2023, and more information will be shared soon.
Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, the Token danshi, is an uchigatana that is also well-known for being Ryoma Sakamoto’s preferred blade. Yoshiyuki is forward-thinking, optimistic, and views swords as antiquated; as a result, he employs both a gun and a katana.
In addition, ufotable provided a teaser video that offered a more in-depth look at the visual style and anime scenes. Clips of swords like the Horikawa Kunihiro, Izuminokami Kanesada, Yagen Toushirou, Tombokiri, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga in action are shown.
All of the swordsmen in the trailer appear to have their own distinct fighting styles. Yagen, for instance, uses knives, while Tonbokiri brandishes a massive spear-shaped sword.
Yoshiyuki, on the other hand, stands out because of the fact that he literally brought a gun to a sword fight. Yoshiyuki was a fan favorite back when the anime first aired because of his positive attitude and natural curiosity.

I don’t think fans will be able to wait much longer, so I hope ufotable gives more attention to this film soon.

Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu
The anime TV series Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu was created by ufotable, directed by Toshiyuki Shirai, and scored by Hideyuki Fukasawa, and it is based on the video game of the same name. A release in July 2017 and a conclusion in September 2017 are the only known dates.
Taking place in 1863, the story follows a group of skilled swordsmen, knife fighters, and shooters as they pursue the mysterious Time Retrograde Army. This group claims it can alter the course of events.
