This is a complete guide to the tragic events of Jujutsu Kaisen.
The Series Was Changed By Wasuke Itadori’s Demise
The death of Yuji’s grandfather was depicted briefly, but had a deep emotional impact. It left an impression on the show and left viewers wondering what happened to the rest of Yuji’s family. Yuji’s biggest source of inspiration during his life as a sorcerer were Wasuke’s last words.
Wasuke praised his grandson’s resilience and advised him to devote his life to helping others so that he would have company on his deathbed. The sequence was powerful even though viewers don’t know much else about Wasuke.
Megumi Witnessed Yuji’s Death as Sukuna Tore out His Heart
To prevent Yuji from regaining control, Sukuna pulled out his heart and held his body prisoner. Megumi reassured Sukuna that Yuji would find a way to reclaim power because she had faith in his abilities. Yuji lost control of the situation for a bit as Megumi and Sukuna clashed.
Megumi’s promise that she would never forget Yuji’s sacrifice moved Yuji to tears. He recovered consciousness, lauded Megumi’s skills, and then died suddenly in his friend’s arms.
Kokichi Ought to Be Given Another Chance
To get his body back in working order, Kokichi collaborated with the enemy. Unfortunately, his association with Mahito’s crew cost him dearly. Kokichi lost the battle against the patchwork curse after a long and bloody struggle.
On the day that the Shibuya Incident began, he sent a message to Yuji to let him know what was going on. It was even more devastating when he admitted his love for Miwa and said his last wish was to shield her from harm so she could be happy.
The Brutal Way Junpei Died
Junpei Yoshino was a jaded adolescent since he had been bullied so much. As a result, he became disinterested in everything. His fall was hastened by Mahito’s presence, of course. This little boy’s fragile psyche was used as a test subject by the patchwork curse.
Mahito was testing Junpei to see how far he would go. It was too late by the time Yuji calmed Junpei down and tried to help him see a better future for himself. Before killing him, Mahito disfigured Junpei’s body crudely.
The Purpose of Nanami’s Death was to Break Yuji’s Spirit
After their battle, Nanami and Dagon left Nanami looking very battered. He hobbled around, contemplating retirement and a move to Malaysia, where he could spend his time reading in solitude. A horde of disfigured humans were released by Mahito, but Nanami promptly put an end to that.
Then, he and Mahito engaged in their final showdown. Before Yuji could offer any assistance, Mahito activated Idle Transfiguration. Nanami said to Yuji just before he passed away, “You’ve got it from here”. Then, in Yuji’s presence, Nanami’s chest exploded.
