Hoshikuzu Telepath, a Coming-of-Age Yuri Manga Will Debut in Fall Anime
The supernatural and yuri aspects complement the slice-of-life humour to create an enjoyable and accessible animation. The protagonist of ‘Hoshikuzu Telepath’ is a painfully bashful young woman who meets an alien. The girl may have trouble speaking up, but the alien can get out her meaning quite well even without words.
It was somewhat unexpected that an anime adaptation would be revealed in October of last year, given that the original work is a yonkoma (four-panel) manga.
The October premiere date for the ‘Hoshikuzu Telepath’ anime was announced on Tuesday via the official Twitter account for the Manga Time Kirara magazine. It was also featured on the cover of the June edition of Manga Time Kirara. A majority of the voice actors have been unveiled.
The manga follows Umika, a high school student who struggles to express herself articulately due to her extreme shyness, and was written and illustrated by Rasuko Okuma. Yu, a student who is transferring, shows there one day. Yu, being an alien with the power of Odekopathy, can experience and comprehend the emotions of everyone around her.
The ability is activated when their foreheads connect, which is helpful for Umika because she doesn’t have to raise her voice to get her point across to Yu.
