The Settings of ‘Suzume’ Feature Vintage Doors and Objects
Japan excels at taking anime beyond the realms of cosplay and conventions to create a fully realized experience. Whether you’re enjoying Naruto- or Studio Ghibli-themed theme parks or a dish based on your favorite anime, you’re no longer a passive onlooker. Instead, you get closer to one another.
The ‘Suzume’ anime film by Makoto Shinkai has recently become one of the highest-grossing anime films ever. However, because to its relatively recent introduction, no actual landmarks can be directly attributed to it.
The antique entrances used as landmarks in the film ‘Suzume’ have become permanent fixtures in the real-world places represented in the film. A fan tweeting under the handle Kintetsu5820 reveals the locations of these kiosks. Some of them, which were in inaccessible locations before, are now frequented by tourists.
It would appear that the tourism board approved of the door being installed for the Suzume no Toshimari blockbuster, but the fact that no other preparations were made for its installation is true to the source material, and I believe the landowner’s consent was properly secured given the film’s subject matter. Not overly flashy
All around Japan, from the southern prefecture of Miyazaki to the northern area of Iwate, the doors play a vital role in the film. The Twitter user also noted that the door fits in with its ominous setting very nicely.
The Mainichi reports that on February 23rd, the door mentioned in the tweet above appeared in an empty lot in Miyako City. The builder’s identity was concealed, but the property owner gave his blessing.
There was a door at the observatory on Route 45, and the Yamada Town Tourism Association seems to take pride in their efforts.
Compared to Miyako, the weathering on this door is much worse, and if you look closely, you can see that the daijin (keystone) has been strategically positioned behind the door, making it much more secure.
The Yamada Town Tourism Association also opened a second entrance that day, February 18. The tweet’s corresponding door may be found in the Yamada town observatory.
Framed photos, posters, models of cats, and a three-legged chair are just some of the Suzume-related items on display at Orikasaeki Station. The user also mentioned that the local fare is tasty, so you won’t go hungry if you decide to check it out.
The final scene takes place at Orikasa Station, a stop on the Sanriku Railway.

I’m happy to see that ‘Suzume’ is making an impact in Japan the same way that other anime masterpieces have. The film has already achieved immortality by shattering numerous records; this was likely unnecessary.
Suzume no Tojimari
The director of the anime film Suzume no Tojimari is Makoto Shinkai. On November 11, 2022, it made its debut. In August of 2022, Shinkai published a novelization of the film.
Suzume, a 17-year-old girl, is the protagonist of the film. She encounters a young man who is also on the prowl for a door. A series of tragedies befall Japan after Suzume opens a mysterious door she finds among the rubble. In order to preserve Japan, Suzume must immediately shut them down.
