Looks like Deku’s plan is working in My Hero Academia Chapter 414 but some strange things are happening too because of which memories of Deku and Shigaraki are overlapping. Read more about it below.
In the last chapter, we saw a flashback from Star’s last moments inside the vestige world as she pointed to something unusual, a sad child over there through a crack. Back to the fight, Shigaraki was confused as he was thinking why he had a vision of Star. Kudou said something to Deku and Deku was not able to understand. Deku was thrown to the ground and asked what Kudou meant by that.
Kudou then explained that the lump of lead inside Shigaraki represented all the anger, frustration, and memories of his past. He is too strong to be defeated from the outside so they have to defeat him from inside. The crack will increase in size if One for All is transferred to Tomura but this comes with a risk as it might make him more powerful too. Kudou said that they could transfer power in parts and he would be the first one to go.
En said that if someone has to go he should be the one as his quirk is most useless right now. They were also worried about Shigaraki using Gearshift but Kudou assured them he would not use it anymore as it would cause extreme exhaustion. Kudou then said that they had to believe Deku now and then told Deku he was ready. Deku also affirmed in a yes and we saw a huge wave of black whips tear Shigaraki’s arm off. Deku’s body was covered in black whips all over. The fight will continue in next week’s chapter.

- Banjo is impressed by Deku using Black Whip to move.
- En is shocked that he put the idea into practice so quickly.
- Kudou then says that Deku doesn’t just obey orders, he uses all the knowledge he has about quirks.
- Deku is not sure if he’ll be able to keep up with Shigaraki’s speed without Gearshift.
- Deku decides he will transfer One for All by dropping his blood into Shigaraki’s wound.
- The problem here is Shigaraki’s healing ability and Deku would get only one chance to do it.
- Shigaraki is now skeptical after the last move of Deku.
- Shigaraki then says that he will just keep destroying everything.
- Deku uses Smokescreen and En is confused since he knows his quirk is useless now.
- Tomura touches the ground, but he realizes that Deku used Black Chains to tear out a huge chunk of the ground and prevent decay from spreading. The thing is similar to flying the UA Security System.
- Danger Sense then warns Shigaraki that OFA is coming from behind.
- It is just Gran Torino’s cape that gets decayed.
- Shigaraki realises that it is a trap but he can not do anything about it and Deku comes out of smoke.
- Shigaraki then moves to a defensive form and uses the “fingers armor” form.
- Deku lands a punch right in Shigaraki’s chest, transferring him Gearshift.
- Kudou’s vestige hits Shigaraki’s inner world like a meteor, causing damage.
- After this a weird thing happens and Deku starts seeing flashes of the first time Shigaraki met Toga and Dabi.
- Izuku and Tomura’s memories are blending. There are many flashbacks from Shigaraki’s memories.
- En shouts at Deku and says the plan is working but it is not enough and asks him to keep going.
- The chapter ends with Deku preparing to transfer the next One For All quirk.
