The mystery behind the attack on Master Jinshi is still unsolved in The Apothecary Diaries Episode 21 Maomao has moved back to the rear palace while Master Jinshi is busy with his other works.
In the last episode, we saw that Maomao was able to save Master Jinshi from the framed incident but as she was attacked by the guard she was taking rest and she also had stitches in her leg due to the injury she got while saving Jinshi. She then woke up and went to discuss the matter with Gaoshun and Master Jinshi and they came to the conclusion that many of the past cases Maomao solved were interconnected.
They were all a big conspiracy theory so that the culprit could attack Jinshi. The culprit planned it all so smoothly that everything that happened looked like an incident or because of some rivalry. If Maomao was not able to reach the ceremony on time, Master Jinshi would be dead because of this planned attack.
Then after deducing all the things that happened and events that led to the court lady Maomao was talking to in an earlier episode and then she remembered her talk with the lady about the revival drug she understood that something was fishy. Maomao then went to look for her corpse as she wanted to confirm something and her suspicion was right as the doctor was fond of Suirei and he did not conduct a thorough examination on the corpse. Maomao then opened the coffin and to everyone’s surprise, there was a different person inside it.
Maomao then explained how Suirei faked all this and when she got the chance she left the place with her allies who supported her in this crime. Things got pretty bad but there was no clue about it. Jinshi was looking out for Maomao and then he found the perfect position for her again at the rear palace as Concubine Gyokuyou might be pregnant again.
Maomao was happy after hearing this as there were no men allowed inside the rear palace and she would not have to deal with her father Lakan anymore as long as she worked at the rear palace. We then saw Maomao doing the old usual things at the rear palace like tasting food and other things. The episode ended with the shocking news that one of the three sisters from the Verdigris House was being bought out.
