A PV is Released for the Japanese Dub of Mo Dao Zu Shi

Aniplex opened an official website for the Japanese dub of Mo Dao Zu Shi on Saturday, revealing a teaser promo and key visual.

It is a dub produced by Aniplex and Sony Music Solutions. The animation style already has us excited for the release!

Check out the teaser here.

Mo Dao Zu Shi may have multiple versions in several different formats, but the basic premise, plot, and characters are the same throughout them all.

The story follows Wei Wuxian, a spiritual cultivator who died 13 years before the start of the story.

He was a controversial figure in his time as he used the ‘dark arts’ to utilize his magic.  He becomes known as the founder of the Demonic Path as a result of this practice.

In the teaser, we got to see how each scene is crafted with such delicacy.

The portrayal of ancient China and the characters were absolutely on point. And on top of it all, classical Chinese music in the background makes us adore it’s aesthetic even more.

The teaser had a mixed reaction from fans. While some are okay with the original chinese dubs, others are waiting for the japanese dubs.

Mo Dao Zu Shi has four main versions-manhua, donghua, novel, and live-action series.

They are very similar when it comes to the essential plot points, but each medium comes with variations in how the story is presented.

The Japanese dub—produced by Aniplex and Sony Music Solutions—will premiere on WOWOW and Tokyo MX in January 2021. Whether the January dub broadcast will include season two has not been specified yet.

Produced by B.Cmay Pictures and Tencent Penguin Pictures, Mo Dao Zu Shi adapts Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s Chinese web novel of the same name serialized from 2015 to 2016.

The first two seasons of the donghua will air in Japan under the title Madou Soshi with subtitles.

The 15-episode season one streamed on Tencent Video from July to October 2018, followed by an eight-episode season two from August 3 to August 31 last year.

A third season is scheduled for 2021, and a chibi spin-off featuring 30 five-minute episodes began streaming on July 31.

About Mo Dao Zu Shi

His rise in power is accompanied by chaos and destruction, but his reign of terror comes to an abrupt end when the cultivation clans overpower him, and his closest ally kills him.

Thirteen years later, Wei Wuxian is reincarnated in a lunatic body and reunited with Lan Wangji, a former classmate of his.

This marks the beginning of a supernatural mystery that plagues the clans and threatens their everyday lives.

Mo Dao Zu Shi follows these two men on their mission to unravel the spiritual world’s mysteries.

Fighting demons, ghosts, and even other cultivators, the two end up forming a bond that neither of them had ever expected.
