‘Azur Lane: Queen’s Orders’ Spin-off to Receive OVA

Azur Lane has always portrayed itself as a fairly serious and violent anime despite having some of the cutest characters ever. This made fans demand spin-offs with some softer scenes and more comedy, leading to the creation of Queen’s Order.

The spin-off is nothing like the franchise’s classic plot and themes and leans more towards the slice-of-life genre. Unexpectedly, the manga became a huge hit among fans who began anticipating an anime adaptation for it.

Good for them because Azur Lane: Queen’s Orders spin-off manga is getting adapted as an OVA.

Queen’s Orders is written and illustrated by Tsuchii, who ensured that the story didn’t deviate from its light-hearted energy. It features the Royal Navy battleships Queen Elizabeth, Warspite, and Valiant as the protagonists.

The story begins when the Royal Navy’s commander collapses due to exhaustion, and Queen Elizabeth, as a secretary, decides to step in. As the acting commander, Elizabeth is suddenly burdened with loads of responsibilities and enlists the help of Warspite and Valiant.

Besides these three warships, the manga also has cameos from various other ships from the franchise. They usually appear to assist Elizabeth with her multiple duties and troubles.

Moreover, as a 5th-anniversary celebration, the franchise has revealed another video full of cute and heartwarming scenes from the anime.

It is a compilation from Azur Lane: The Animation and Slow Ahead! series featuring the characters during their time off.

I, for one, am really excited to finally see an entirely wholesome and kawai anime from the franchise.

Not saying that I hate the action-packed series full of badass female characters, but it’s nice to see our favorites in a different setting.

About Azur Lane

The anime is adapted from Hori’s Azur Lane Bisoku Zenshin! Four-panel manga. It takes place lively naval port of Azur Lane, known for its beautiful marine life and breathtaking view of the beach.

The story follows the daily adventures of Javelin and her friends- Laffey, Ayanami, and Z23. These four girls never fail to get into various shenanigans, around which the series revolves.

However, the original Azur Lane anime based on the mobile game follows a totally different storyline, where fleets of ships battle with each other.
