Of course, any sudden break in serialization may mostly point to health issues that the mangaka may be facing. Sadly, this is a common occurrence in the industry where they push themselves to their limit. But when there is a return date, things might not be that grim.

Sho Harusono’s Blossom on Stage! manga will go on a six-month hiatus in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine. The manga will return in the magazine’s March 2022 issue on 28th January 2022.

The reason for the hiatus was not stated, but it is safe to assume that it is probably not related to Harusono’s health. His other manga series Sasaki and Miyano continues to be in serialization online.

The mangaka might have wanted to take it easy for a while, or he could be taking some time off to work on the upcoming anime adaptation of Sasaki and Miyano.

Blossom on Stage! follows Asahi, a high school student who decides to join a theatre club to overcome his social anxiety, where he meets Imari, who has his own problems.

Fans of the shonen-ai genre might want to keep an eye on this one. Although there aren’t any hints that point toward the possibility, with two male protagonists and mangaka’s history, the story might just turn into one.

Sadly, it will be a long time before we get to discover that possibility.

About Blossom on Stage!

Blossom on Stage! is a new Japanese manga by Sho Harusono serialized in Comic ZERO-SUM.

Oniwa Asahi’s just starting his high-school life, and he’s decided it’s time to turn over a new leaf and learn how to make friends and get to know those around him. How does someone who’s terrible at interacting with other people do that?

Turns out, it’s as easy as joining the Theatre Club and its quirky cast of characters, including the captain Imari, who seems to have his own issues opening up to others.
