Crunchyroll to Screen ‘Suzume no Tojimari’ Globally in April 2023.
The latest film by film wizard Makoto Shinkai, Suzume no Tojimari, is a disaster. Since its release, this movie has been the highest grossing in Japan, surpassing even One Piece Film: Red.
The film has already been a huge success in Japan, and now it’s time for it to make its way to international audiences with the help of Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll has announced, with a trailer featuring English subtitles, that it will release the Suzume no Tojimari anime film outside of Asia in April 2023.
Starting on April 12, 2023, you can see the film in theaters for the first time. Keep an eye on the announcements for your area and save the date, because you won’t want to miss this:

As for the rest of the world, including Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the company will soon announce release schedule. We’ll have to wait until Crunchyroll makes an official announcement about global screenings before we can know when the show will be shown in other Asian countries.
Since its Japanese release, Suzume no Tojimari has far outshined its forerunners, Your Name and Weathering With You. As of the 5th of December, it has earned over US$55.69 million in sales, making it the 87th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan.
Shinkai’s name attached to the film means that Suzume no Tojimari will do exceptionally well. Now that the director’s name is out there thanks to the success of Your Name, audiences will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating this new offering.

Suzume no Tojimari
Makoto Shinkai directed the anime feature film Suzume no Tojimari. A premiere date of November 11, 2022, has been set.
Suzume, a young woman of seventeen in the film, is the main character. She meets a young man, also 17, who is on the prowl for a door. When Suzume unlocks a mysterious door she discovers among the ruins, it sets off a chain reaction that leads to catastrophes across Japan. In order to prevent Japan’s destruction, Suzume must now seal them all.
