Saiki Kusuo possesses a wide range of superhuman abilities, including telepathy and telekinesis. This may seem fantastic, but superpowers, in Kusuo’s opinion, aren’t all they’re expected to be. Despite his unpleasant powers, he attempts to live a normal existence. Now if this Synopsis doesn’t entice you to watch this anime then I may start to judge your taste in anime.

Saiki Kusuo no Sai-nan: Manga & Anime

Shūichi Asō is the author and illustrator of the Japanese manga series The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. From May 2012 to February 2018, the manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump after a series of one-shot chapters from 2010 to 2011.

From July 2016 to December 2018, an anime television series adaption of the same name aired. In October 2017, Columbia Pictures (Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan) and Asmik Ace released a live-action film. Directed by Yuichi Fukuda, starring Kento Yamazaki. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened, a six-episode sequel anime series, aired on Netflix in December 2019.

Saiki Kusuo no Sai-nan: Recap

Here is the season-wise recap of Disastrous Life of Saiki k.

In season 1, Saiki Kusuo attends school and is in 2nd year. Except for Nendou Riki, Saiki does not have any friends. Nendou is so ignorant that he is the only mind Saiki is unable to read because there is nothing to read in his head. As the anime progresses he makes new friends and even girls are interested in him like Teruhashi. By making the other girl fall in love with Kaidou Shun, Saiki avoids all this drama.

Season 2 introduces another psychic. While Saiki hangs out with more friends even though it’s forcibly. He also tries to avoid this psychic. One of the interesting plots of season 2 is when Saiki and his friends get stranded on an island.

Disastrous Life of Saiki k.: Reawakened is a Netflix Original that includes previously unanimated chapters as well as new characters. And then finally we have 2 more episodes in season 3 in which Saiki completes his 2nd year at school. There is one big event at the end but I’m going to stop here, and let you watch and enjoy this last part.

My final thoughts, this is a must-watch anime, it is a light-headed comedy and can be watched any time without worrying about the plot as these are one plot per episode type anime.
