Disney+ Confirms November Debut of ‘Tatami Time Machine Blues’
The standard way to fix broken devices would be through a technician, but the protagonist of Tatami Time Machine Blues has a unique approach. Instead of going to a workshop, he would travel back in time to prevent what caused the machine’s malfunction.
Sounds crazy, doesn’t it?
That’s just how absurd this story is, which leads to its underrated status and niche fanbase. Despite a small number of fans, the series pulled through enough to receive an anime adaptation.
Disney+ has revealed in its U.S. release schedule that the ‘Tatami Time Machine Blues’ anime will be out on November 9, 2022.
The anime’s first season will have five episodes, with a sixth episode exclusively for Disney+. This extra episode will have an original that is not in the novel or the theatrical compilation film.
Walt Disney Company launched the anime’s compilation film for a three-week theater run on September 30. The screening was later extended after the movie became popular and received a positive response.
The story follows an unnamed protagonist, mainly referred to as ‘I’ or ‘me,’ and his time-traveling adventures. His trouble-maker friend Ozu spilled cola on the air conditioner remote on a scorching mid-summer day, much to the protagonist’s chagrin.
While thinking of a solution to this crisis, the protagonist is greeted by a sloppy and shabbily-dressed student from 25 years into the future. The protagonist sees an opportunity to retrieve the unbroken remote from the past and borrows the student’s time machine for it.
Well, that’s one way to fix a remote if your AC remote ever breaks due to your friend’s stupidity.
New Trailer of ‘Tatami Time Machine Blues’ Reveals the Film’s Absurdity
I’m pretty sure that the plot has already made you curious and intrigued about what the movie will be like.
If you’re a fan of dramas with unexplainable absurdity in them, this should be on your watchlist.
