There’s exciting news for Jujutsu Kaisen fans who’ve been speculating about a strange link between the manga’s main character, Yuji Itadori, and the ominous Ryomen Sukuna! Spoilers and early footage from chapter 257 of Gege Akutami’s masterpiece suggest that the popular theory might be true, hinting at a possible connection between these two opposing figures.
The English version of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 will be available in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 21, which will be released on Monday, April 22nd at noon JST.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 Reveals Yuji and Sukuna’s Relationship.
Based on the raw scans, Sukuna supposedly consumed his twin brother while they were in their mother’s womb to avoid starving to death. However, a tragic event led to the soul of his twin brother being reincarnated as Jin Itadori, who is Yuji’s father.
The story takes cues from Greek mythology, which often features instances of cannibalism. One such example is Cronus, the leader of the Titan generation, who, fearing that his children might overthrow him as he did to his father, attempted to prevent this by devouring his offspring, including Zeus.
Did Gojo Satoru’s prediction come true?
In the previous chapters, it was told that Gojo Satoru speculated Sukuna’s prolonged presence within Yuji could imprint his Cursed Technique onto Yuji’s body. However, the latest chapter presents a new twist, revealing a more complex situation.
Chapter 257 reveals that Yuji not only possesses the Blood Manipulation Cursed Technique inherited from his cursed womb but also a second Cursed Technique – Shrine. Interestingly, this Shrine Cursed Technique is identical to Sukuna’s own Cursed Technique, which contradicts Gojo’s initial assumptions.
The true extent of Yuji’s powers is yet to be discovered in the story, but according to the leaks, Yuji is expected to be portrayed as the true protagonist of the story along with being a powerful force that might even surpass Ryomen Sukuna, himself.
