Evangelion Rebuild Movies Release with 11 Dubs on Amazon Prime

Whether it is just the end or the story as a whole, there is always an alternate version when it comes to Neon Genesis Evangelion. The most recent retelling of the story, Rebuild of Evangelion, is about to go international.

The four movies are an alternate take on the original story with new scenes and characters and a different ending. After the theatrical release of the last film earlier this year, Amazon acquired its distribution rights.

Amazon Prime Video’s YouTube channel has released a promotional video for the international release of Rebuild of Evangelion films.

The tetralogy will be released in 240 regions around the world in 11 dubbed languages and 28 subtitle languages on August 13, 2021.

The PV features a compilation of several scenes from the four movies, but that is not the most memorable thing. The video shows off all the 11 dubs, including Japanese, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Peninsular Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, and English.

We get to see Asuka’s iconic “Are you stupid?” line in Japanese, and four other languages, along with Misato’s chilling “You do not need to do anything anymore” in Hindi.

The Amazon Prime release includes the latest version of the last film, Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time, which provides several updated cuts of various scenes that do not affect the overall story.

Although Amazon licensing the movies is undoubtedly good news, fans will still have to go to Netflix for the original story. Netflix has exclusive licenses for the distribution of the 1995 anime along with the Death and Rebirth and End version of Evangelion movies.

About Neon Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a Japanese anime television series produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production. It was directed by Hideaki Anno and broadcast on TV Tokyo from October 1995 to March 1996.

This series revolves around Shinji Ikari, who was recruited by his father to battle giant monsters (called Angels) in enormous mecha suits (called Evangelion).

Shinji has a hard time bearing this responsibility, and his inner conflict about these events leads to introspective episodes covering a range of religious and existential questions.
