The first class mage exam has started and Frieren has already made new friends. In Frieren Beyond Journey’s End Episode 19, Frieren and her new friends try to capture the bird Stille who has hidden capabilities.
In the previous episode, we saw that Sein parted ways with the others in search of his adventurer friend known as Gorilla Warrior who left 10 years ago. Sein had this goal to find his friend along the way from the very start but it was revealed that his friend was headed in the opposite direction and he chose to go after him. Frieren, Fern, and Stark have reached Äußerst and Fern will take part in the first-class mage exam as they talked about it on their way to Äußerst.
Frieren was hesitant at first as she did not have any certification of being a mage but a rusty emblem did the work for her and she was able to take part in the exam. For the very first task, participants were told to form a party of three and were given some bracelets with numbers written over them. Frieren Beyond Journey’s End Episode 18 Recap
The first class mage exam arc is here and we are seeing some new characters and also some old ones. Ubel is one of them and was looking dangerous at the introduction and she is also participating in the exam. Sein has parted ways with the party as he went after his friend. Fern who has a third class mage certification was able to enroll for the exam.
An old emblem did wonders for Frieren and she was also able to enroll for the same when an elder recognized the pendant. Soon the exam started and all the 57 participants formed 19 parties consisting of three members each. The first task was to capture a bird in the cage given by examiners and the participants were given two days to complete the task.
Fern and Ubel were on the same team and Frieren got tangled with two girls who were already fighting when Frieren arrived to introduce her. It was revealed that their names were Kanne and Lawine and they were former classmates from the magic school. Later we saw that they are helpful for each other and their attacks work in a combination.
They were able to almost catch Stille but they did not know that Stille could fly faster than the speed of sound. Frieren then told them to observe the bird for the day and also watch the sky. At night Kanne got attacked by a monster and she was saved by Frieren. Things will continue from here in the next episode.
