We are going to see some Fern vs Frieren action in Frieren Beyond Journey’s End Episode 25 and if we are lucky we might get a chance to see Frieren fighting Frieren too.
In the last episode, we saw that the second exam for becoming the First Rank Mage already started, and this time the participants had to go through a dungeon which was called The Ruins of King’s Tomb. They had to reach the deepest level of that dungeon to pass the exam but given the dangers of the dungeon, the examiner gave every person a golem inside a bottle so if they faced any life-threatening situation they could escape using it.
Things were going smoothly at first as there were some low-level demons and monsters but then as soon as the participants started nearing the depths, the real monsters arose. Denken and his team faced a member of their team as someone created a clone with the same powers. They were able to defeat her but the next door opened and there was a clone of Frieren waiting for them. Wirbel and his team were also in the same situation as they were about to face their clones.
Fern and Frieren were busy collecting magic items and the examiner was also following them in their quest. Then the monster protecting that dungeon was introduced with a name, Spiegel. He can read the memories of anyone who enters the dungeon and create clones of them. Sense chose this dungeon as she wanted the participants to compete against themselves. The recap continues below.

Frieren Beyond Journey’s End Episode 24 Recap
Denken and others who were facing a clone of Frieren decided to withdraw and the clone remained inside the room. Fern and Frieren with Sense were on their usual quest to find out what was inside that dungeon and Frieren found out one hidden room that was still undiscovered till now. It had all the achievements of the King on the wall. Ubel was with Land and they were attacked by Ubel’s clone.
Land was slashed on his chest and was bleeding heavily. Ubel then asked some questions to him and told him to use his Golem to get out as the clone took his Golem. After Land refused Ubel went to fight the clone by herself and created a situation where she was about to die but then Land came up and it was revealed that the injured one was a clone of Land.
After some more strolling Frieren and others reached the room where Denken and others were already waiting to figure out what they should do to defeat that clone of Frieren. Frieren found this interesting and one member of the team tried to use mind control and hypnosis on Frieren in case the clone has a mind of its own. Well, both things did not work on Frieren but she suggested another participant who might be able to do that.
That participant was already up against a clone of Sense and after a fierce battle, they figured out that the clones can only imitate the actions and they do not have any mind. But it was already exhausting for her and she decided to quit the exam. Wirbel and others were up against their clones but Wirbel looked like he had something in his mind and it worked to some extent. Frieren decided to go with the clone having no mind and Fern told them that in case they were going to use brute force she could defeat Frieren’s clone.
