Gag Spinoff ‘Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa’ to Debut this Fall
Ever noticed how the crime rate seems to be concentrated around where Conan lives? It seems like Beika city attracts creeps and criminals.
Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa takes up this issue and turns it into a gag manga where the protagonist is a black silhouetted guy who moves into Beika. Yes, the whole character is just a black silhouette, the definition of suspicious.
After watching an infinite amount of mind-bobbling cases, I’m sure you need a bit of a break. Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa will serve as the perfect repose when it airs in October 2022. Netflix has already announced that it will stream the anime.
The story features a protagonist who is also a supposed antagonist. One look at him, and Conan knows he is a future criminal. (Blame it on his dark appearance)
After shifting to Beika, the character realizes how scary the city is. The rules of ordinary cities don’t apply there, and he gets so wrapped up in settling in that the thought of crime just becomes fanciful imagination.
Studio TMS Entertainment is animating the series and has gathered some awesome staff members for its production:
Position | Staff | Other Works |
Director | Akitarō Daichi | Kamisama Kiss |
Character Designer | Fū Chisaka | – |
Music Composer | Jun Abe and Seiji Muto | Fruits Basket |
How to Watch Detective Conan Anime? An Easy Watch Order Guide
I found the manga to be unexpectedly hilarious, with gag elements in all the right places. It has a unique concept, and the writer has correctly observed that the area around the detective is the worst place to live in.
You will also get glimpses of Conan in this series as he looks suspiciously at the main character. The Culprit Hanzawa is thus a must for any comedy lover and has already made it to my watchlist.
