The job isn’t half as thrilling as how the media presents it.

Police in a Pod’s protagonist deals with hatred from civilians and demeaning from higher-ups as she faces reality. Still, her depressing days are about to end as she is assigned a strong-willed new partner.

The Police in a Pod anime will be released on January 5.

A special cast members’ event was held today, where the first episode was pre-screened before the official debut. A small cut of episode one has been revealed:

The scene shows Mai Kawai and her reason for joining the police department. She thinks back that she belongs to a low-income family and had to take civil service exams. Out of all the exams, this was the only exam she passed in.

Yet, after all the verbal abuse she has gone through due to her career choice, she is ready to quit.

A new visual has also been revealed where we see the main characters of the anime, Mai Kawai and Seiko Fuji:

Although the anime seems depressing at first, Mai will face a turnaround soon as a new female director of her station is introduced. This beautiful woman is not only a kind person but also a sharp-eyed shrew whose experience doesn’t let anything fly past her.

Hopefully, she will help Mai see the positive elements in a job to which she doesn’t find a sense of belonging.
