Here Are the 10 Best Anime to Watch This Summer of 2023
The anticipation until summer of 2023 is killing you, isn’t it? So far, this year’s anime schedule has been fantastic, and I can’t wait to see what the summer brings.
Major hits from the Spring 2023 season have left the ground for the Summer 2023 anime season to take over.
Amazing shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach are returning for new seasons this summer. To help you keep up with the latest and greatest episodes, I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 upcoming anime for Summer 2023.
Put these dates on your calendars, because you won’t want to miss these incredible forthcoming releases.
10. The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2
You’re in for a wild time with The Duke of Death and His Maid. A story about a man with a deadly touch and his loyal maid who would sacrifice anything to stay by his side is not something you hear every day.
This isn’t your run-of-the-mill romance, but that’s part of what makes it so intriguing. Although I support nontraditional pairings, I’m still trying to understand this one.
Season 2 of The Duke of Death and His Maid follows the narrative of a young duke who is cursed by a witch to kill anybody or anything he comes into contact with. He has an elderly butler and a provocative blonde housekeeper named Alice as his only company in his old estate.
The 3D animation was the only thing I didn’t like about it. It’s not horrible, but it lacks the enchantment of the manga’s original image. It’s just not as pretty as I’d hoped it would be.
9. Masamune-kun’s Revenge R Season 2
Rare is the animation that aims squarely at fans of legwear, in this case stockings and tights. I mean, who am I to pass judgment?
The story in Masamune-kun is what sets it unique from other harem anime, despite the bland characters. Everything from the artwork to the characters to the score is excellent. The idea of vengeance provides an additional incentive for the protagonist.
Season 2 of Masamune-kun’s Revenge R depicts Masamune’s transformation into a gorgeous and well-liked student following years of bullying at the hands of Adagaki Aki. He enrolls at Aki’s school with the intent of publicly shaming her as payback for her wrongdoing.
The first season was a huge letdown, to be honest. The story’s conclusion left me baffled and wondering what the point of it all was. The second season, God willing, will make up for the first.
8. Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 3
If you’re not a fan of harem anime in general, you might want to pass on this one. But if you give it a chance, you’ll find a cast of charming young women with interesting personalities.
Even if the protagonist (MC) can be sad and unpleasant at times, I have to give him credit for making an effort to improve.
To grant Chizuru’s grandmother’s dream that she play the lead actress role in a film, Kazuya and Chizuru will work together in Season 2 of Rent-a-Girlfriend.
The show’s cringeworthiness is a big part of its appeal. Whether you support or oppose it, you can’t deny the influence it has had on traditional media.
7. Devil is a Part-Timer!! Season 2 (Sequel)
I can understand your disappointment in The Devil is a Part-Timer’s animation. Second season compared to the first, but bear with me.
The characters are still as loving and engaging as ever, despite the animation mistakes that may be annoying.
When the Devil Works Part-Time!! In season 2, after being stopped by a hero from completing his global conquest, the devil finds himself in present-day Tokyo. He’s forced to work as a burger flipper at a fast food joint because he lacks any marketable talents.
In addition, the lovely Alas Ramus joins the cast; her antics with the Devil and the Hero made me laugh out loud. Don’t just stop watching the show yet. There is still plenty comic relief to be obtained.
6. Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead
This anime has crazy action sequences, but it’s not afraid to include emotional depth and meaning with the mayhem.
Even if the setting is extremely cliché, the story succeeds because of the characters.
Akira is a dead shell of a man until he sees his landlord eat another tenant in Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. The city being overrun by zombies has given him a renewed sense of vitality as he escapes with his life.
Characters seem more relatable because they are realizing their wildest fantasies even while the world crumbles around them.
5. Horimiya: piece
Horimiya is one of the few romantic comedies that knows exactly what it is. It is well aware of and makes excellent use of its own advantages.
You might be worried that it will devolve into a cheesy love story, but I can assure you that that won’t happen. That’s great news, by the way! There’s a good reason why the manga became so popular, and the anime stays true to the source material.
Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura are two high school girls whose tale is told in the touching piece Horimiya. They don’t have much in common at first glance, yet they wind up becoming fast friends while they’re not at school.
Horimiya is the perfect feel-good rom-com if you’re searching for something straightforward and lighthearted.
4. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2
Not everyone will enjoy Mushoku Tensei, and it is not a particularly serious martial art. There is no attempt to make you cry or to frighten you with graphic violence. It’s different since it’s more of a comic adventure.
It has all the tropes of the isekai genre that we’ve come to expect, yet it’s the original and it still holds up.
Season 2 of Mushoku Tense follows Rudeus as he sets off from Rosenburg in search of his mother, who is believed to be in the Labyrinth City of Rapan on the Begaritt Continent.
The show’s ability to alternate between dark and humorous moments will keep you interested throughout.
3. Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War: Part II – The Separation
When it comes to the “Big 3” anime franchises, Bleach is one of the originals. Unfortunately, the final arc of the manga was left out of the anime.
The final chapter of the manga has been waiting for an anime adaptation for nearly eight years, and now it has arrived!
Bleach: A Thousand Year Blood War: In the first part, we saw Wandenreich declare war on the Soul Society, setting the stage for Ichigo’s last confrontation. The second installment will pick up right where the first left off.
My anticipation for Bleach’s return and the story’s finale has reached fever pitch. If you want to go to the season finale with the rest of the fans, you should see the previous seasons first.
2. Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5
I was thrilled to learn that a new season of Bungou Stray Dogs would soon be arriving, and I need not have worried. Both the animation and the characters are of the highest quality.
Sure, there’s some homoerotic tension between some of the attractive males, but what I really dig about this anime is the way it pays homage to all these great authors and writers via the characters.
The Kamui Revelation Arc, which centers on Kamui and the Decay of the Angel’s plot to transform people into vampires and rule over them, will be adapted in Season 5 of Bungou Stray Dogs.
I can’t wait to see where the plot goes from here because Season 4 was the most thrilling and consistent of all the seasons so far.
1. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
This is the best place to start watching shonen anime. The book Jujutsu Kaisen makes a great introduction.
All the staples of the shonen genre are here, but they’ve been given a new, realistic spin thanks to the show’s many plot twists and impressively deep character development.
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will adapt the Gojo Arc from the manga and the Shibuya Incident Arc. Gojo and Geto’s mission to accompany a Star Plasma Vessel to Tengen is depicted in the former.
The latter is focused on Geto’s strategy to imprison Gojo by forging a new cursed alliance.
Among the best of the new generation of shounen, Jujutsu Kaisen heralds a new golden age of anime that I can’t wait to watch develop.
