In April 2023, The TV Anime “Insomniacs After School” Will Air
Schoolchildren Ganta and Isaki from “Insomniacs After School” are insomniacs who go on excursions under the starry night sky. They demonstrate that although insomnia is an unpleasant illness, insomniacs are the only ones who truly appreciate the beauty and allure of the night.
Makoto Ojiro intended for this story to resonate with those who had this disease, and he was successful in doing so. The narrative will undoubtedly reach more individuals who need to hear it now that an anime version has been confirmed.
According to Big Comic Spirits, a publication published by Shogakukan, the anime “Insomniacs After School” is expected to premiere in April 2023. Soon, more details about the release will be made public.
With the launch announcement, the magazine unveiled an artwork showing Ganta and Isaki riding a bike beneath a starry night sky. As the premiere date approaches, we may see additional such appealing images and promotions soon.
I’ll explain the plot to anyone who aren’t familiar with it.
You already know that it centers on Ganta and Isaki, two schoolchildren who both suffer from sleeplessness and who wind up becoming unexpected friends as a result. The personalities of the two are completely different; Ganta is sour and nasty, whereas Isaki is vivacious and upbeat.
At the school’s derelict observatory, which the astronomy club once used, Ganta runs into Isaki.
No one visits the observatory because there are persistent reports that an astronomy club member died there. When Ganta finds the ideal location to catch some much-needed rest, he is surprised to see Isaki, another introvert, doing the same thing.
The two then make the easy decision to use the observatory as their personal haven for sleep. Their tranquility, though, was short-lived because the school was unable to permit unauthorized use of the facility.
To solve this issue, Ganta and Isaki resolve to resurrect the long-gone astronomy club and take over the observatory.
Along with the coming-of-age theme and stunning scenery, the plot also addresses the drawbacks of insomnia. While highlighting its positive aspects is undeniably unique, it is nonetheless a disease that can make people’s lives challenging.
These reasons are why I’m really eager for the anime to be released.

In May 2019, the Big Comic Spirits magazine began serializing the Makoto Ojiro manga Insomniacs After School.
Ganta and Isaki, two schoolkids, are the main characters of the manga. Since they both have trouble sleeping, Ganta wanders into Isaki’s quiet retreat in the school.
Isaki and Ganta quickly become friends and begin spending a lot of time together as they find comfort in one another.
