Isekai Manga ‘Dead Mount Death Play’ to Receive Anime in 2023
Imagine being isekai-d but in the body of a freshly murdered 16-year-old whose killer is still trying to finish the job. That’s what happens with the necromancer Corpse God from ‘Dead Mount Death Play.’
This dark reverse isekai story is unique as the evil villain is the protagonist, and he wants to live a peaceful life. Now that the manga has 90+ chapters, the franchise has decided to take it further.
Ryohgo Narita’s ‘Dead Mount Death Play’ manga series will receive an anime adaptation in April 2023. King Amusement Creative has also revealed a trailer for the announcement.
The story is a reverse isekai as the protagonist, Corpse God, is transported from a fantasy world of magic and swords to modern-day Japan. Corpse God had activated the reincarnation spell during his fight with the fantasy world’s hero, Calamity Crusher.
This villain-turned-protagonist did that as a last resort to have a peaceful life somewhere away from the action and killing. Instead of getting what he desires, Corpse God finds himself in a body that many people are trying to kill.
The trailer gives us an insight into how Corpse God ended up in this situation and teased some of the characters. Simultaneously, the video also reveals the main cast for the anime, and they are as follows:
