Isekai Ojisan to Restart Broadcast in October with Episode 1

Covid-19 seems like a never-ending crisis, and the anime industry has been critically affected by it in terms of production. The latest one to become a victim of this deadly virus is Uncle From Another World.

Among the numerous cliches in this genre, this peculiar isekai presented us with a refreshing plot and gained popularity. However, constant delays due to rising cases have become a source of worry.

Instead of being inconsistent, the Isekai Ojisan franchise has decided to rebroadcast the anime from October 6, 2022. The re-release will begin with episode 1 in hopes of being regular with the releases.

A few days ago, the anime announced an indefinite delay for the eighth episode, confirming that most of the staff had fallen ill. Following such a setback, production had to be halted till the team recovered.

Considering how the franchise has bounced back with a rebroadcast, it’s possible that the anime is planning a fresh start, hopefully without breaks and delays.

Previously, the franchise had announced that it would be streaming episodes 3-6 throughout September. Now that the re-release news is out, the latest that we’ll get the new episodes starting with the eighth is at the end of November.

Till now, the story has progressed to the point where Takafumi and Sumika seem pretty comfortable with Uncle’s magic and his isekai life. Besides using his powers every once in a while, the pair spend their day watching Uncle’s memories from the other world.

Since the show had most of us pretty engaged due to its unique story, I’m really looking forward to the new episodes. Moreover, there’s not an antagonist in the story yet, and Elga is yet to appear in the real world, which is something I’m excited about.

I hope the staff gets plenty of rest and recovers from the illness soon.

Isekai Ojisan is a manga series by Hotondo Shindeiru. It has been serialized in ComicWalker since 29th June 2018. An anime adaptation has recently been announced.

The manga focuses on Takafumi’s uncle who has been in a comatose state for 17 years but he suddenly wakes up one day and claims that for all this time, he was in an isekai world.

Now Takafumi has to live with an uncle who has magical powers but doesn’t know about the technological advancements of the last two decades.
