Military forces from a number of countries were introduced to the colony in the previous chapter, and a number of Kogane later appeared. Both Kenjaku and Uraume were elsewhere. The soldiers opened fire on Remi first. First, Remi was electrocuted, and then a secret weapon was pumped into his veins.

The troops kidnapped anybody who came their way for scientific study. We then watched Reggie’s ally Iori Hazenoki, who was also a member of the army, face them off. He recalled that just before the bomb went off, Kenjaku had released countless cursed spirits through all of the barriers.

Meanwhile, Angel and Hana were looking into the cause of the unexpected influx of gamers within the colony. Military personnel were overheard discussing how simple it would be to capture the sorcerers because of their inherent weakness. When asked about the unusual influx of players within the barrier, Takaba joked that it was all his renowned admirers coming to greet him.

The army has arrived at the spot where Yuji and Megumi are hiding, and they are making preparations to launch a counterattack. This invasion occurred in the past, precisely two days before the confrontation between Kenjaku and Choso.

The reason Kenjaku and Uraume brought so many troops inside the walls was revealed: they don’t believe there is enough cursed energy already contained there, and they believe that the deaths of the soldiers will unleash some of that energy. So they transported those troops within the walls to boost the cursed energy already present there.
