Jujutsu Kaisen Manga: Increase in Sales Seen after Movie Release

Following Demon Slayer’s tremendous popularity, the shounen industry is finally taking notes as to how to craft a good adaptation. There are so many things I could say about JJK that I’m not sure where to begin. Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0 is the biggest release of the year in Japan so far. And not only the movie but also the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Sales increased ten times.

Of course, it’s understandable why people flocked to theatres to witness Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0. The feature may not have opened with songs like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train, but it did draw a sizable audience. After all, the anime has been quiet since the first season ended. Jujutsu Kaisen Movie annoncuement kept fans on edge. Millions of people are still unable to see the film. While Jujutsu Kaisen Manga continues and is growing strong.

This in turn contributed to the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Sales. Which is currently no 1. bestselling manga in Japan. The manga had over 60 million copies in circulation as of December 2021. With 6,702,736 copies sold in 2020 (from November 2019 to November 2020), Jujutsu Kaisen was the 5th best-selling manga series.

On December 24, the Japanese premiere of the Jujutsu Kaisen movie 0 took place. In Japan, it was the second-highest-grossing picture on opening weekend (Of course, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is the 1st). In its first three days, the anime picture grossed roughly 2.7 billion yen ($23.5 million).

Akutami Gege is the author and illustrator of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga series. In March 2018, the manga began publication in Weekly Shonen Jump and has 18 volumes so far. Studio Mappa’s anime adaptation will be released in October 2020.
