Jujutsu Kaisen Movie’s New Trailer And Visual Reveal Prequel Manga Adaptation

Jujutsu Kaisen, the top-tier supernatural comedy anime of 2021, refuses to back down in the upcoming movie competition and has just announced an anime movie!

This time, the film will not be a sequel to the anime but a prequel.

Since the movie is a prequel, Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara won’t be appearing.

However, that is no excuse to get disheartened, since yet again, Satoru Gojou will be making his appearance as the powerful and dashing sensei at Jujutsu High School.

The 24th episode of Jujutsu Kaisen anime announced the upcoming anime movie adaptation of the series that will premiere in Winter 2022.

The film will adapt the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga, which is a prequel to the original story.

A brand-new trailer has just been released for the movie!

The trailer reveals Yuta Okkotsu, who will be the primary character in the movie. Yuta is the protagonist in Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School.

However, he was introduced only in chapter 137 of Jujutsu Kaisen as the executioner of Yuji Itadori.

The anime will introduce Yuta and give us a detailed account of him and his special grade curse, Rika.

Akutami Gege has also drawn a unique illustration for the Jujutsu Kaisen movie.

The visual shows Yuta Okkotsu. The phantom arms around him that protectively guard him, is Yuta’s curse, Rika. Rika was Yuta’s childhood friend, but her sudden death and Yuta’s unacceptance of it caused her to become a curse.

MAPPA will be animating the movie. Some big titles like Black Clover and My Hero Academia are also ready to release anime movies. Will Jujutsu Kaisen be able to hold its own?

Jujutsu Kaisen, also known as Sorcery Fight, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by GegeAkutami, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018.

An anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA premiered in October 2020.

The story revolves around Yuuji Itadori, a high-school student who, despite hating athletics, is insanely fit. Yuuji gets involved in the world of sorcery when he swallows a powerful talisman to protect his friends from its curse.

On observing that Yuuji wasn’t affected much even when inflicted with this curse, Satoru decides to send Yuuji on a quest to save the world.
