It seems very similar to Noragami, however not so laden with comedy. This anime series has proven itself a juggernaut; with two new movies releasing in 2021, the saga of Kenshin is still alive and well!

And if you are a fan of the series, there is more good news for you!

Shueisha, the publishing house that owns the series, has listed a new Rurouni Kenshin Novel. The novel is titled Rurouni Kenshin Kamiya Dojo Monogatari. It will be available for sale from 2nd July

The novel is written by the series creator Nobuhiro Watsuki and Novelist Kaoru Kurosaki.

According to the description, the story takes place at the end of the 12th year of the Meiji era when Kenshin and Kaoru are having a modest wedding ceremony.

While Kenshin is wearing his father’s crested hakama, Kaoru is wearing the wedding outfit that belonged to her late mother. During this peaceful time, Kaoru recalls the first time she met Kenshin.

From the description’s calm and peaceful tone, we can assume that the new novel will focus on the peaceful and blissful times of Kenshin and Kaoru.

The manga was published from 1994 to 1999 and was later adapted into an anime. Furthermore, the original manga has spawned countless anime and film projects. 

The novel will be a fantastic read for any Kenshin fan when it comes out in July!

About Rurouni Kenshin

It is a Japanese manga series penned and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1994 to 1999. A TV anime adaptation was also broadcast to 1996 to 1998, and it even has an anime film along with numerous video projects.

The English manga version was published by Viz Media, and the English anime version was released by Media Blasters.

The story revolves around a former assassin who, after going against the feudal government, changed his name to Himura Kenshin and changed into a wandering swordsman who protects the people of Japan. He made a vow to never take another life.
