Tokyo Revengers’ Special Arc and Spinoff Are Confirmed by Kodansha
Even though the Tokyo Revengers manga ended just one day ago, Ken Wakui has already begun writing its sequels and spinoffs.
Yes, that is accurate. On the side, the mangaka has been developing some new material for this juvenile tale. Even though many people won’t be too pleased with any new films in the series, we’re still interested in what he has in store.
A special arc and an additional spinoff manga for Tokyo Revengers will be released soon, according to issue 51 of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. On January 17, 2023, the final volume (volume 31) will go on sale.
In November 2023, Wakui will provide more information about the special arc during a sizable exhibition in Roppongi, Tokyo. We therefore have a year to come up with all the wild hypotheses about this plot and what it might entail.
Additionally, this special arc need not be the entire story; it could simply be one chapter or the epilogue. Wakui still needs to confirm the format and may reveal all of the details in the following year.
The Weekly Shonen Magazine will start serializing the additional spin-off manga in the interim. It will have eight chapters and be based on the original Tokyo Revengers series.
The manga author also revealed that the first chapter of the spinoff is titled “The wounded tiger.” Mikey, Draken, Mitsuya, Pah-chin, Baji, and Kazutora, the founding members of the Tokyo Manji Gang, will be the main characters of the story, Wakui further revealed.
When the final arc began, Tokyo Revengers began to face harsh criticism. Despite the negative reviews, Wakui was able to finish the manga and even announced spinoffs and other continuations.
Wakui, in my opinion, is attempting to right the wrong with these and rekindle fans’ enthusiasm for the show. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll still get a prequel spinoff, which is more than enough.
About Tokyo Revengers
Ken Wakui is the author and illustrator of the manga Tokyo Revengers. On March 1st, 2017, it started running as a serial in Kodansha’s Weekly Shnen Magazine. On May 15, the ongoing manga’s 17th collected book volume was released.
Takemichi Hanagaki is the protagonist of the tale, who discovered that the only ex-girlfriend he had from middle school had been murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang. Takemichi was pushed off the train platform after hearing about the incident.
He closed his eyes after landing on the tracks and accepted his death; however, when he opened them, he had traveled back in time 12 years.
